My observation is, that the young Russian players concentrate only on killing the pieces, not planning for Check to the opposite party. They usually kill nearly all the pieces, then play with one or two pieces. This is the Greatest draw-back of Russian Young-Players. They cannot concentrate on Check with the opposition party very much intact. Both players are doing the same. Initially, they have no specific Plan in mind, they just go on a rampage, killing helter-skelter, no planning at all. Then, with the last few pieces, they start to make some plan. When I was in Bombay, India, (!966), I gave Check-Mate to the Bombay expert in just 5 moves only, all intact!
