Having an outrageously expensive event (with GACHA) not long after the hacking controversy is peak Respawn/EA moment.
Making your test for an ultra expensive item be a sponsored collab and then expecting people to pay MORE money for a random knife with nothing behind it is absolutely foolish
This is such a bad way to sell cosmetics. It made sense for the Final Fantasy collab since it's a licensed crossover, but for standard Apex stuff? Nah dude.
Every event I'm less enthusiastic to support this game.

It's almost like the developers are making a fun game for people to enjoy and the publisher is pushing a hyper predatory, extortionist business model onto it for stockholders to enjoy.

Yes they have addressed it they are looking into it they will put you back were you were originally with the challenges

If you do them again you get the battle stars. So if you care about leveling your battle pass I would just do them again but if you don’t then yeah you can wait for them to fix it

Imagine going to an expensive designer shop and seeing the clothes (which are mid and overpriced but ok) but being told that you need pay to spin a wheel to get one at random.

Yeah nah they really gotta rethink the way they sell these artifcats. As expensive as collection events are they aren't as bad as this.
The one time respawn make actually decent skins in a long time and you can't even buy any individually, you have to gamble all your money for a very slim chance of getting any you want

The first 4 packs makes sense though as you spend 200 coins for the first 2 and the the next 2 are 500 coins so 1000 coins in total. Which makes it 1200. I don’t know why it’s says it’s a discount even though that’s the max price for the first 4 packs. It’ll be a real discount if it was like 1000 coins

In 1 year or so they repack it with a weapon skin in a bundle if you really want it
I feel like it'd be better if they reserved this format for collabs only, at least the greed would be somewhat justified since they'd be getting back the money they spent on licence fees. Because as we all know, Respawn is just a poor indie company

You know what’s even crazier, I took a look at the event. When I opened my first event pack I got the heirloom, I decided to not even try to buy anything else, like it’s not even worth it at that point.

Punch you say "it's not an EA thing, but an industry thing" about manipulative loot boxes but that is incorrect. EA has played a direct role in the proliferation of this business model ever since Andrew Wilson became head of EA. Just look at the history of monetization with their FIFA franchise. They innovated this terrible practice.
Not that I do but when it comes to these events with a bunch of items you really got to do a lot of math to figure out the best price for the items you buy. It’s not exactly straightforward as it was before

The event pack rng is TERRIBLE this time around. Ngl I opened like 10 packs and 8 of them gave me purple event items, with the only 2 legendary items being the STICKERS. Not to mention you can no longer just buy the one skin you want with coins anymore.

This event better fail man, the only reason the Final Fantasy one worked was because it was Final Fantasy. Nobody wants universal heirlooms especially if they replace the legend-specific ones.
I don't like the new ltm. Too many gas boys and transgoopers (caustic and catalyst) gassing and gooping up everything
