A great video thanks. Congratulation's on Portugal. I have been looking for this kind of video for a while. Where do us expats who no longer live in the States start the LLC I had never considered Florida Thanks. Hopefully you make more videos for us US citizens who want to operate outside of the States and the pitfalls we should avoid with our LLC's Thanks.
nice
I had a FL LLC until this year. I gave it up as the states wanted an additional fee each year to continue its existence. I believe I paid $178.00 to file, then had to pay $178.00 each year to keep the LLC current and in good standing with the state.
In TX I only pay 1 filing fee though higher, I don’t have to pay a similar fee each subsequent years in order to maintain the LLC.
Every state has different fees. If you live in Texas and not florida then that makes sense.
Hello 👋
Thanks Jim for a great video. Where should my business partner and I choose to file if we live in different states (me: CA / my business partner: NJ)?
What happens you have a llc in your present state and then move to another state in the near future? Is the llc transferable to the new state or do I have to reapply for a llc in the new state?
👍
Some Registered Agent services allow you to use the registered agent address they provide as the business address and principal office on the articles of organization when filing for an LLC. Is this safe to do?
I wrote an article about that and touched on this exact issue. Here’s the link: www.hawthornlaw.net/registered-agent-for-llc/
So as someone who moves to different states once every 1-3 years on average, every time I move I must either register it as foreign, file articles of domestication, or delete the LLC and reform it? If so, that's quite a pain in the ass!
Isn't the U.S. Government making Instagram and Facebook come back from Ireland? I read that somewhere. I hope so because that's a ridiculous loophole. They're obviously an American company. (I'm considering Portugal.)
You obviously cut your videos. Cut out the distractions instead of emphasizing them.
I also wrote a long blog post that digs further into the strategies discussed in this video. Here is a link: www.hawthornlaw.net/best-state-to-form-llc-for-online-business/
