    We have this machine, we have had it since 2009 when they first came out. It is faultless, it has needed maintenance (done by me) like new brushes. It is an amazing vacuum cleaner ( the Mercedes of the bunch). It still works like new after all that times.

    I have two of these machines and I love them (one upstairs, one downstairs). We bought it used off Ebay 5 years ago because we have a Great Pyrenees that sheds like a snow blower. We also had 3 cats. The Sebo is the only machine that we could find to hold up to the torture. We go from flat floors to freeze, to oriental rugs. If you have animals this is the one to buy.

    Dear Mr Peterson. I can`t find my original post to you but it`s me John in England who eats lots of fish and chips in the rain! Looool!
    I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for all your kind HONEST advise on buying a Sebo.
    We went for the X7 pet model in the end because it has the turbo suction button and all the accessories with it and it actually works out cheaper here in the UK than buying the tools separately. The hand held spinning brush that comes with it is like WOW and where has this piece of kit been all my life? And why hasn`t every other manufacturer jumped on the bandwagon and producing something like this????
    So I felt it was only fair to take the time to not only review the machine but also to review you as a seller, because it was you and your opinion on vacuum cleaners that guided me to buy the Sebo in the first place wasn`t it. So this review is also from the stand point of a customer. Hope that makes sense and I`ll be as brief as possible ok.
    Most of my life I`ve used Hoover vacuums but for the last 10 years we used a Dyson 07 which is big clumsy and compared to the X7, totally rubbish and into the bin it goes on everything vacumy! 10 years before that the original Dyson 01 and again compared to the X7, into the bin with that too. In fact Dyson compared to Sebo is like comparing my VW Golf (Dyson) to my Mercedes (X7) There is no comparison in any department. Not one!.....Seriously not one!
    Ok our carpet. It`s very similar to your demo carpet but wayyyyyyy thicker and denser and much, much thicker. Not a shag pile but you could sleep on it it`s so dense n comfy. So for the past 20 years this same carpet has been vacuumed by the two Dysons. I used the X7 last week on 2900sq ft of carpet and I can honestly say I could not believe my eyes (I sound like a kid whose seeing a magician for the first time) the carpet actually rose up and stood up on end like it did 20 years ago!!!! It seriously looks like a new carpet and when you walk on it now leaves footprints! Loooool! You switch the turbo boost on and the machine becomes even better than it was 30 seconds before hand! Just incredible!
    The accessories with the extension hose etc. are a must really, but it`s the spinning hand held brush that`s the winner with us!
    It`s a lot of money I know but as my old dad used to say. "You get what you pay for son"
    And I can honestly say that this is the best vacuum cleaner I`ve had for 65 years!!!!!!! So I wish you and your company Mr Peterson many, many more successful trading years and keep giving Joe Public out here your honest no `BS` reviews!
    Thank you again......John in frosty cold UK

    Nice explaination and demo is how the vacuum works! I just bought my parents a Sebo X1 off Ebay that's in great shape. I've been playing with it thr past 2 days to see how I like it myself and it seems like a well made vacuum and does a nice job on carpet and with tools. The auto height adjust is very accurate, more than any other machine I've used. I like how low profile it is and am astounded at how quiet it is! I knew Sebos were quiet but this seems even quieter than other ones I've heard! Hopefully my parents like it! They have an older Oreck XL but I have a feeling the Sebo will out clean that.

    Ive worked for the restaurants in 3 hotels that all use the blue/gray Sensor line which I love using. I could vacuum right next to the guest' table and it was so quiet they said they didn't even know I was vacuuming. Well, I bought the X4 ($200 more than the Sensor), and I hate to say, but I'm not impressed. Its not near as quiet or thorough as it doesnt have near the suction of its Sister Sensor! The long hose would be wonderful but the slightest stretch/movement away from the device makes it topple over. It has almost crashed thru my curio cabinet glass, glass coffee table. The only solution is to hold the entire vacuum as well.. For $750 why the heck isn't there a light at the base? Or a built in cord rewind? The length of the cord is quite cumbersome in my apartment. I mean if Mercedes luxury can do headlight wipers then why can't Sebo modify the vacuum with these 3 necessities? Just saying....

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před 9 lety +5

      PippiClaremont Hi - Sorry that you're not so thrilled with your X4 - it has been for years a popular vacuum in our facility and our customers typically report a solid satisfaction with it. The Sensor line is a Windsor product (made by Sebo) and it uses the same motor - the suction and airflow (i.e., efficiency) ratings are the same. All the older Sebo uprights were quieter than the new ones as the motors were smaller. There is no light because Sebo vacuums are commercial grade units and generally commercial vacuums don't use lights. As far as a cord rewind - very few uprights have cordreels since the cord length becomes greatly reduced (the X4 cord length is almost 40 feet!) - being generally about 24 feet - and the cordreel adds more weight and bulk. Yes, you must hold the vacuum when you use the hose - many uprights are like that - the people from whom you bought the unit should have explained that to you.

    I changed the bag recently but there's little sucking power!!

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před rokem

      If the unit has poor "suction" there may be at least a partial blockage somewhere (I doubt the filters are the issue as you would see the primary filter covered in dirt). Start by testing the suction at the end of the hose. If it is poor -- look for a blockage in the hose (the hose will remove from the top of the vacuum by means of a release lock). If it is good; then, attach the wand and check suction again -- this time at the end of the wand. If the hose is clear, poor suction at the wand would mean a blockage in the wand. If the wand is clear of debris, turn the vacuum over and (with it unplugged) start investigating at the vacuum intake located behind the revolving brush. There is a little trapdoor there to aid in clearing a clog -- a section of coat hanger with a slight "hook" formed at one end can be helpful in locating and removing a clog. The intake area is the most likely place for a clog ....
      I hope this helps.

      Hi - yes, life is full of choices :-) . In one sense it doesn't make a difference since both Miele and Sebo make high-quality vacuums. Having said that, the Miele is bigger/bulkier, heavier and more powerful. The Sebo, then, is more compact. The Miele provides the best/ultimate flexibility in the use of the onboard hose and accessories, if that is important. If a more compact unit is desired, go with the Sebo.

      Hi -- thanks for the compliment. To keep it simple -- they are all, essentially, the same vacuum. The Pet involves a marketing aspect in respect to animal hair -- the vacuum is not going to perform any better.
      The Boost enables the vacuum to clean more aggressively on any particular carpet by forcing the vacuum to adjust a bit closer to the carpet fiber. We consider that to be a viable feature.

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před 3 lety

      @@mountainbiker4450 My apologies -- I was on the way out of our facility when I answered you earlier and I forgot to answer your question on the bare floor use.
      The revolving brush cannot be turned off. In terms of damage, if anything, rather than harming the floor it should burnish it slightly (a ceramic floor typically has a substantially durable/baked finish, a tile floor has an acrylic finish, and wood floors have, usually, a finish that routinely contains a urethane which is also like a plastic in composition and durability).
      The Miele C3 Homecare is available in a few different versions -- some incorporate a combination rug/floor tool only and some include an SBB parquet floor tool. The combo tool uses extended nylon bristles -- fine for tile but not wonderful for polished wood floors. The parquet tool uses natural bristles -- usable on the various bare floor surfaces; but, perfect for wood floors (read "soft"). Of course, a Homecare with the combo tool can be enhanced by buying a parquet tool, as well.
      Speaking generally, uprights are rug cleaning vacuums (i.e., the nozzle is designed to clean carpets); whereas, a canister vacuum such as the C3 is like a toolbox -- i.e., specific accessories for both bare floor and rugs, and, overall, much more flexible in their use.

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před 4 lety +1

      We don't think much of the Dyson and most bagless units. Most vacuums today are more disposable than not. The first mechanism to capture and isolate particles is the bag. A properly engineered bag does this well. If there is no bag the vacuum is inundated internally with fine particles. As well, it is typically messy to empty. Last, a Sebo is much efficient as a machine for removing particulate from the house than has ever been any Dyson. I hope this helps answer your question.

      JOE PIETRANDREA Joe is right - my bad - in my mind I was thinking the question was relative to the Sebo Felix. There is no button to shut of the revolving brush on an Auto X series Sebo. Sebo, instead, has installed a replaceable rubber "squeegee" strip on the bottom housing/plate behind the revolving brush - the result being that any particulate driven by the brush is stopped by the squeegee - giving the vacuum time to then remove that particulate.

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před 8 lety +2

      +Nathaniel Aranda Hi - The Kirby is a solidly made vacuum (main body parts are cast aluminum). In most respects it is today an obsolete vacuum - a throwback to an era in vacuum manufacturing from the early to mid-1900's. It is very heavy and does not provide the sealed system used by Sebo, Miele and others (read "it blows out a lot of small particles"). It is also very noisy. A much better choice for this type of vacuum is the Royal all-metal upright - etpetersen.com/index.php/residential-vacuums/royal-all-metal/ - it is not only an original design but it is 1/3 of the price!

    Another Biased Overview. “We do not advocate bagless machines because of the pollution level as a result.”
    Now let me straighten something up here. First of all machines Like Dyson and Shark have a complete sealed system and a post motor Hepa filter so they don’t go letting all of the impurities back into the air like you say they do. That only happens when the seals on the machine are worn out and the Hepa filter is expired, or when there’s no Hepa filter in the machine! The same thing could happen with a bagged machine as well if you don’t replace the filters after they expire. Whether a machine is bagged or bagless, if you tune them up every so often, the filtration will remain optimal on both of them. Secondly, The only distinct difference is that the bag acts as an extra layer of filtration, that is very good for people with life threatening allergies. But for people like me who have no allergies and a good healthy strong immune system, bagless is best suited for my needs.
    Perhaps you should stop being biased towards bagged and start advocating the advantages and disadvantages on both methods!

    • @keithpetersen8114
      @keithpetersen8114  Před rokem

      All critical use vacuum cleaners typically utilize a primary particle retention mechanism of some sort -- usually a bag. The use of properly engineered bags results in a considerably cleaner internal and, ultimately, external environment. They also contribute to continued airflow as the bag material when properly engineered retains large quantities of particulate but continues to allow for optimal airflow. Of course, bagless machines necessitate a dirty -- let's say filthy -- emptying process. A properly engineered bag system is quite sanitary to remove and replace.
      I'm glad you're immune system works well; but, a bag is an advantage -- i.e., not a disadvantage, for everyone. It should also be of interest that, when Hoover started promoting bagless vacuums several decades ago, one of the Hoover executives publicly remarked at that time that, from a cost perspective alone, the use of bags greatly reduces the need to replace the more costly filters.
      The most critical need is for total, 100% sealed chambers, passageways, etc. in the vacuum proper. This is available on well-engineered vacuums and simply not available on the ordinary machines such as you have referenced.
      In addition, most filters referred to as "Hepa" simply do not meet certified Hepa standards. They do not themselves have sealed construction; nor, will they properly retain the critical micron sizes that a certified Hepa will retain. Lastly, they will typically "dump" -- which means that, after an aggregate of particles they are prone to suddenly releasing/dumping a quantity back into the airstream.
      I hope this additional information helps on this subject.

      @@keithpetersen8114 Properly engineered bags? You mean the electrostatic woven ones? The airflow will reduce overtime if the bag is not changed regardless of what material it is made from. I know that by experience. Bagless machines are not that messy unless of course you cavalierly empty the bin, plus maintaining a bagless machine is nothing compared to handling 4 tons of gross garbage. Dealing with gross garbage is much more of a filthy unhealthy processing job than maintaining a bagless machine will ever be. A bag may be an advantage to people with life threatening allergies, but it is a disadvantage to me. Personally I would prefer not to spend money on vacuum bags, unless of course I was cleaning up toxic materials that I didn’t want to get into a dirt bin. The filters on a Dyson cost $14.90 and on a shark they cost $13.29 and the filters are washable, so they don’t need to be replaced every time they get used unlike vacuum bags. The bags and filters for that Sebo cannot be washed so they will need to be replaced more often. The whole service box of bags and filters cost $69.99. Thats means I am spending $70 per maintenance. That is quite excessive.
      I would personally prefer to save the money on a bagless machine with washable reusable filters. But if I was doing renovation work and there was a lot of toxic material to clean up. I would be willing to spend money for that on a bagged vacuum.
      I only use a bagged machine for legitimate purposes.
      I hope that clears things up.

      Sorry to be so delayed in responding to your inquiry -- just seeing your comment now. We have just (2024) made Sebo canister videos and will be releasing them throughout the next 10 days.
