    I said it back in 2010.. the day David Ortiz gets inducted into the HOF i will be there in Cooperstown, NY .. he has single handedly brought me more tear-induced joy than any player in sports ever has or ever will.. i will walk to Cooperstown if i have to, i feel like i owe him that.

      Bonds and clemens and sosa were shooting up in the bathroom before a game. They literally had trainers sticking needles in their asses before they went and hit their 50th homer or pitch 20 ks. mksrookies McGwire has to appear in front of the fucking us senate. Ortiz failed once on the twins, never again. Also the writers aren’t pissing in the cup or intercepting it before it gets to the mlb. They can not report it but the mlb would find out and that’s all that matters lol. He’s not a cheater. Ortiz was Way better than manny, way more clutch, way more consistent, and played well for way longer. Also bonds and Clemens and Sosa would literally walk into the field with a band aid over where they shot up literally 5 minutes before the game. Also it’s so unfair to all the clean players to say the ones who actually used steroids did nothing wrong. Think about it, you spend your whole life working, and hit the gym everyday. Your really the best player in the league, but because a few guys shoot shit into their asses
      Your not even recognized. Oh, and then everyone feels bad for THEM and not

    So Max is saying a DH can never be in the hall of fame? . You could pull the no defense argument on every dh in the league. Plus, by that logic, AL pitchers shouldn't be in the hall of fame because they only play half the game for about 7-8 innings. And they're part of a rotation, they only play about a quarter of the games. But there are plenty of hall of fame pitchers. You have to judge him relative to other people in his position. We don't compare kickers to quarterbacks! Compared to other DH's David Ortiz is one of the best ever.

  • @jayking1531

    As far as the PED issue, just look at the guy. His head didn't explode like Bonds,he wasn't a musclebound freak like Mc'guire and Sosa. And he didn't lie about it like Braun. Now about baseball, 3 time World Series champion. The greatest clutch hitter in baseball history. What he did in 2004 alone would qualify for that distinction,but he went on to win 2 more World Series after that. The Fenway Park argument is ridiculous,he was a left-handed pull hitter. Finally the defense argument,I have no doubt he would still be a Hall of Fame player(first ballot) even if he played 1st base his entire carrer. You can't penalize him for that simply because hitting brings more value than defense. He was also a cultural icon,who always had a smile and a funny joke or an incredible competive spirit. First ballot no doubt,baseball will never see anybody like him again.

    Ortiz had 241 career home runs at home (222 of them at Fenway Park), far less than the 300 HR he hit on the road. Yes, he had a higher average and more doubles at home, but if anything Fenway took away a lot home runs from him due to the deep right field. It's true his overall numbers were better at home, but the home/road splits are not drastic enough to hold it against him, he still had over .500 SLG and around .900 OPS on the road for his career to go along with those 300 HR.

    Ortiz is arguably the greatest DH of all time with all the other people that play it and come up short to his hitting. He is also arguably the clutches hitter of all time. I don’t know a guy that performed with bigger clutch hits than he did and was as feared as him

Yep!, first-ballot Hall of Famer for sure 👍👍🙌

    Not to take away from Ortiz's teamates in anyway. But without Ortiz they do not win that 2004 ALCS and without Ortiz they do not win the 2013 World Series (pretty sure he hit over .500 in that series while rest of team hit under .200). He's the biggest reason they won in 2004 and he's the only reason they won in 2013. That's a stat that few if any can match.

  • @codymarrochello2686
    @codymarrochello2686 Před 3 lety +1

    The Fenway argument is completely invalid. Papi hit lefty in Fenway which is 380 ft to the bullpens in right field. Ortiz pulled the ball 48% of the time and hit to center 33%. Straightaway center in Fenway is 420 ft. Now compare this to 310 to the monster in left. Fenway has never been a friendly ballpark to lefties that tend to pull the ball more often than not.

  • @vidowatcher91
    @vidowatcher91 Před 5 lety

    You can't just "find a DH" there's a lot of great hitters who were not great when they had half the day off. The same with closers, you can't just plug a good reliever in there. Not just anyone can get those last 3 outs

  • @3985uprr
    @3985uprr Před 2 lety

    A Yankee fan spilling the sour grapes all over the place. As for hitting in Fenway park a lot of David Ortiz home runs went to right field which is like 380 feet away. Don’t knock his Fenway park abilities. Just his clutch hitting which is unparalleled in major league history as long as I’ve been alive 68 years, he should be a first ballot Hall of Famer
