- Released in 2001, it was DreamWorks’ 5th animated movie, but it might as well have been their first. Shrek blew audiences away with its refreshingly harsh satire of Disney, laced over some loveable new characters going through a heartwarming story. As the years went on, sequels got made, the Shrek brand was diluted, and we all memed on it. This video will cover the 4 movies that comprise the core Shrek saga, how it evolved, and what sorts of life lessons we can get from this crude swamp monster.

I remember growing up with original movie as a kid. I remember watching it in TV on the CW (back when I didn't have cable) and I finally had the DVD in 2017 and I saw it multiple times and It still holds up. I watched the sequels and outside of the 3rd movie (non-canon). They were great in their own right. To me, this is fantastic trilogy set of movies and it's impact makes me all the more happy

One of the few movie series that I saw every movie of on the big screen. I mean, the first one came out when I was six years old. One of the few good things about 2001 for me. I didn't love the third one, but I still went to the fourth because the first two were so good.
Me personally, I would particularly like to see retrospectives on "Toy Story" and "Despicable Me". Also, even though there are only two of them, I'd quite like to see a retrospective on the "Puss in Boots" spin-off movies .... please
