সবথেকে ভুল করেছিলেন উনি রাজকাপুরের সঙ্গম ছবিতে অভিনয় না করে ।যদি তিনি আর কে ব্যানারে আন্ডারে ফিল্ম করতেন ।তাহলে আজ অমিতাভ বচ্চন কে উনি টক্কর দিতে পারতেন। কিনতু হায় বাঙালি বাবুদের ego সেটাই বাঙালির একমাত্র দুর্ভাগ্যের কারণ।
বৈজয়ন্তীমালাকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ কারণ তিনি একদম খাঁটি কথা বলেছেন । তবে ঐ নিম্ন মনোভাবাপন্ন পরিচালকটির জন্যই মহানায়ক বড্ডো অকালে চলে গেলেন একথা মানতেই হবে ।

Bollywood has its audiance globally. Their taste is different. They like acting of Dilip Kumar, Raj, Dev Anand, Sanjiv Kumar, Rajesh, Amitabh etc. Uttam was not fit in the industry. His dialogue delivery was very poor. So he failed. The songs of Film were hit but it flopped.

There is a different version on the failure of Chhoti Si Mulaquat as I read from a different source.
It was a conspiracy of Raj Kapoor to not allow Uttam Kumar to get a foothold in Bombay. Vaijayantimala would deliberately reach late at the shooting spot, would spend hours and hours in her vanity van, thus the progress of the shooting was halted and stretched deliberately....thus escalating the cost. They made sure that film never gets good publicity, so the distributor lobby was pressurized to not allow the film to be shown in major centres. From that it seems this Ms V was not a saint as she is projecting. Talking about the dancing style, anyone can make out the grace and superiority of Uttam in that area...Raj Kapoor never could dance...his brother Shammi took up the dancing style reminding us of a cockroach throwing it's limbs when it falls flat on the ground. All these gibberish staff by this Bombay lobby was to hide their sin. Ironically the Kapoors had their careers starting from Calcutta in early 40-s when it was the movie hub.
