  • This is a step by step tutorial on how to make a cube hammock for your ferrets, rats and other small animals. It is not as hard to make as it seems. I highly recommend making this using flannel cotton for the outside and fleece for the inside. I have included a list of materials and measurements below, along with links to some of the materials used to make this small animal hammock.
If you don’t sew and would like to purchase a teepee hammock or other small animal hammock, toys or cage liners, stop by FerretTails on Etsy. www.etsy.com/shop/FerretTails

Great channel and great guides. Thanks! I'm learning how to sew for
rodents through your videos and have already been able to donate a lot
to our animal shelter for small and large rodents (mice, rats, degu,
ferrets, squirrels....) to sew houses, tunnels, hammocks and entrances.
The animals enjoy it, thank you!!!! Sorry i use google translator.
When learning and sewing, i only noticed how much work it is, respect to you for your beautiful work!
    Best regards, Bernadette

Do you know any tip to stop your needle foot from adjustments when sewing ?

    • @FerretTails

I’m not 100% sure I understand the question. Is your needle positron changing while your in the middle of sewing? On my machines I can only change the position by pushing a button. If it’s moving without you moving it intentionally you may have to take it to be serviced.

@@FerretTails I need to get my sewing machine serviced , but when I sew thick layers of fabric my needle breaks. I will put in a new needle but then my machine won't sew , the turner for the needle stops working.

Where’s your industrial sewing machine from?

It’s a Juki. I absolutely love it. I got one with the automatic thread cutter and lock stitch. But you can get it without those features too and it’s a lot cheaper. I really can’t say enough about how much I love it. They sell it on Amazon, but I actually got mine from a sewing machine shop and it was a little less expensive and they delivered it and set it up for me! This is the one I have: amzn.to/3KQLer0
This is the one with just the basics: amzn.to/3rdz7N4
Both versions only do a straight stitch so I use my Bernina to do my decretive stitches, zigzag stitches ect..

@@FerretTails do you know if the cheaper one works on foam?

    • @FerretTails
      @FerretTails  Před 2 lety

@@bobbyjoe6365 it should. It’s pretty heavy duty. I actually tried the cheaper one in the store. It’s the basically the same. The main difference is the more expensive one has the automatic thread cutter and back stitch. There are a few other differences, but nothing that major. They use the cheaper version in factories and sewing classes.
Here’s an overview of the one I have with the CP 180 panel czcams.com/video/dXs99Qarafk/video.html
And here’s an overview of the 8700 DDL without the control panel czcams.com/video/QI-8pLZGqvU/video.html
I choose the more expensive one because I love a thread cutter and the automatic back tac is great for what I do.
