- सुनील गावस्करांनी एक जमाना आपल्या तंत्रशुद्ध फलंदाजीनं गाजवला. त्या जमान्यात फलंदाजीच्या दुनियेतल्या बहुतेक विक्रमांची ओनरशीप ही सुनील गावस्कर यांच्याकडे होती. एक समालोचक म्हणून त्यांनी आजही क्रिकेट खेळाशी नातं जपलं आहे. गावस्करांचं समालोचन आपण ऐकतो किंवा त्यांच्या फलंदाजीचे किस्से आपण ऐकतो, त्या वेळी आपल्याला वाटतं की सुनील गावस्कर म्हणजे एक गंभीर व्यक्तिमत्त्व असावं. पण वास्तवात गावस्कर इतके गोष्टीवेल्हाळ आहेत की, ते गप्पांची मैफल छान रंगवतात. दस्तुरखुद्द पुणेकरांनी शुक्रवारी सायंकाळी त्याचा अनुभव घेतला. निमित्त होतं अथश्री फाऊंडेशनच्या वतीनं आयोजित सुनील गावस्कर यांच्या गौरव सोहळ्याचं. याच सोहळ्यात क्रिकेट समीक्षक सुनंदन लेले यांनी सुनील गावस्कर यांच्यासोबत गप्पांची मैफल रंगवली.

राहाणे तसा चांगला खेळाडू आहे। थोड्या विश्रांती नंतर पुन्हा संधी दिली पहिजे।
वेगवान गोलंदाजीचा सामना तंत्राचा वापर करून कसा करावा याचा आदर्श भारतीयच नाही तर जगातील फलंदाजांना शिकविणारे महान फलंदाज गावस्कर.
अगदी खरे , हेल्मेट शिवाय bouncer कसा चुकवायचा पुढे वाकून किंवा मागे वाकून बॉल कडे शेवटपर्यंत पाहणे अफलातून ,त्यांचे पॅड स पण वेगळ आकर्षक होते , व सत्तरीत ही तरुण क्रिकेट समालोचन करणाऱ्या मंडळी न सोबत क्रिकेटचे ज्ञान ,प्रेम श्रद्धा या जोरावर इंग्लिश भाषेवरील कमांड पाहण्या सारखा आहे , सुसंस्कृत प्रोफेशनल लाजवाब जसे अमिताभ बच्चन सर , छान वाटते हे सगळे 👍
Sudhir Patil सुसंस्कृतपणा, बहुषृतता. आमच्या लहानपणी गावस्करांबद्दल प्रचंड आकर्षण होते. Bowlers ची गुणवत्ता प्रचंड असताना त्यावर मात करण्याची तयारी असलेले गावस्कर.

सुनील दादा हे अत्यंत साधे पणाने जगणारे व्यक्तीमत्व दादर येथे आमच्या समोरच्या माधवी नावाच्या बिल्डिंग मधे रहात होते १९७१ साली प्रथम वेस्ट इंडीज ला गेले होते तेव्हा आमचे घरी माझ्या आजीचे आशिर्वाद घेण्या करीता आले होते. तसे त्यांच्या आई ने सांगितले होते म्हणून. ही व्यक्ती मात्र एकाच प्राण्याला अतिशय घाबरते तो म्हणजे कुत्रा... ज्या जवळच्या गल्लीत खूप कुत्रे असायचे त्या गल्ली मधून ते स्वतःची पद्मिनी फियाट पण घेऊन जात नसत. जर काही कारणास्तव त्या गल्लीतून जायची वेळ आलीच तर सर्व काचा बंद करून गाडी तेथून काढत असत.. मस्त व सज्जन मनुष्य.. आमचे दादा सुनील दादा 👍👍
