I grew up on my great grandfather's model 65. He was a tight wad so he waited until the new model (135,165, 175) came out and bought our 65 (we still have it) in 1965. I heard he had an Oliver before that, but also heard it was a Farmall M. Either way I'm an MF man for life because of that ancient iron beast. Once I get it from my aunt I'm going to restore it to like new and drive it in parades and stuff.
It's warm here today too Doc...first 90 degree day for Northwest Ohio in 2021! That tractor is worth saving FOR SURE! It'll make a nice machine for someone once it's up and running. I can't wait for the videos on Tractor Doctor TV.
Got a 56 massy 65 and she's a workhorse!!! The only thing I don't like about it is both the gear shifter and hi &low range has to be in neutral for it to turn over.
You have more than $200 in spare parts in that tractor, but you in a position of where if it requires some labor and parts it will take ton of either to make it a financial loss. Good pick!
Hello I would love that 65 . It Would fit nicely in my shed between a Massey Ferguson 30 and a super 90. But theirs a small problem l live in Tasmania. Stay safe Kerry.
Them MF's 50 are one good tractor. I'd say if you were to run the serial number you might find it to be a little newer than you think. I used to have a MF 125 with a 3 cylinder perkins gas. It has 4500 hours and leaked all kinda fluids and i sold it for 2500 bucks. They hold val.
65 Gas? If it has that Multi Power transmission. Be careful If you in MP and your going downhill you're free wheeling if as though you were completely out of gear. Remember the MF's of that era were TREMENDOUS power take off tractors but were not the greatest for heavy tillage work. You needed a Case, JD or IH for that work. The MF 65 was built from 1958 through 1964 soon after the completed merger of Ferguson and Massey Harris. Replaced with the 165 which was the same tractor with new styling .
Tell dock hes life savor for people making video's every video he makes helps some one out so much if he gets 100 views ill bet at least 20 people it means so much ive learned to maintain my fleat from you tube video's saved me 1000s and 1000s on 100$ pr hour machanics
I used iodine one time we even did a video about it and I was absolutely amazed that it worked but it got to a d10 Alice on stuck and I've used it one more time at home on a Ford backhoe and it worked both times
That is about how much those old tractors are worth! But if the former owners want about $2,000 for these oldies-it just isn't worth it to fix them up because it takes a lot of work and money to fix them up! I know from experience because I just revived a couple of old Minneapolis model U tractors!
Hey crazy D love the videos and channel. I wanted to ask your opinion on a deal i have in the works. I have the opportunity to buy a farmall super A for 400$ non running with wheel weights and a front snowplow. The owner converted it to three point rear hitch aswell. He said it ran 3 years ago. For reference im in the north east US. I feel 400 is a good price. What do you think?
$200 to save a tractor, very nice! I am sure Doc will have it running in no time. 🇺🇸🚜👍
had a 65 on the farm it was hard worker very reliable. I don't have a farm but would love to restore a 65

65s sell well here
Your channel is awesome 👌.
The tires look good.
You guys are doing better than me - everything I buy is on four flats 😂
I grew up on a 65. It was sort of a family heirloom. It told my grandmother that I wanted it. She gave it away. Good times.

I always liked the way those hoods lifted. Nice work
They were actually a pain when you needed to put in fuels. I owned two Massey Harris Ferguson’s 50’s which the exact same hoods1956 models.
I had an Ferguson 65 with Ålö loader. the best tractor i ever had.
Good job. I need to sharpen my wheeling and dealing skills to a much finer edge.
I came across a 1961a... Admittedly built in the mother country of MF😊 but it costs 700US and in Europe that is considered CHEAP.

Sorry to pop your bubble. MF 65 produced from 1958 to 1964. There IS no such thing as a 1956 MF 65.

You’re letting the yard go back to the Prairie😉

Yes
Lol you get your brother to help you figure out the tractor then tell him he needs to cut his grass. Nothing like a little dig to him brother.
Look forward to the Doc getting it going

To bad you’re in Kansas. I’m in Alabama and I want a 65 Massey so bad.

The dieselmatic with fluid in tires and suitcase weights on front will pull a 2 bottom plow
It,ll junk out 4 way more than that in parts
Is Doc really a mechanic? Love your channel. More I watch you seem to be the mechanic and just need labor. ✌️ no hating.
What year is this massey ferguson 65 I have one just like this one but I don't know what year is it. Thanks
Nice buy.that needs big tires they were balsy tractors. Isnt massy 65.65hp?

I used to have a MF 3165 good tractor.
If the points are wore down that much I bet she fires right up...
Hey Dave what would you recommend to unstick a Ferguson to20 I recently got one but the motors stuck
I used iodine one time we even did a video about it and I was absolutely amazed that it worked but it got to a d10 Alice on stuck and I've used it one more time at home on a Ford backhoe and it worked both times
@@CrazyDEquipment thanks I tried marvel mystery oil and a few other thing and it hasn’t come loose yet I will try that
When we did that video I used some really high dollar iodine and I don't think you actually need the high dollar stuff
@@CrazyDEquipment how long do you think it will have to sit full of iodine before it loosens up?
The two times I did it I let it set a week

CRAZY-D ROCK ON 😎😎😎
Is this from that auction?
No this is not from an auction about these from a neighbor of mine a few miles down the road been sitting for a while
At auction it would have brought around 1200$
@@jamescrawford8292 Good day from Ontario. Yea MF 65 running would be over $2000, up here Thanks
Cranking it from the ground?.....if your going to do stupid stuff you have to be tough.
You sure took advantage of someone...200$?....how do you sleep at night?
POOR DOC. 🎱🎱🎱
