We thank you from the UK for your revolutionary music, which led to rave scene here 1987 acid house. Then it mutated into hardcore, house, acid house, jungle, drum n bass, techno, trance, happy hardcore ,ect ect. Today 2023 nearly all music is that classic 4 bar beat house. 💚🎵🌈✌️🌱💨🕊
Shout out to Chicago and the Hip House Scene, all love from South Africa✌️. We got something called AmaPiano down here,we basically do the same thing,Rap,Sing,Chants,Loops etc etc Over a Local African House Husic Production..A HUGE SHOUT TO CHICAGO for laying the Foundation..Love,South Africa.
Tyree Cooper is one of the Hip House legends!!
Big up from the UK.....you guys have no idea all this influenced the early rave scene which ultimately led to the massive 'dance' scene it is today. so massive respect!
Swift Cee hell yea man chicago & new jersey we really started the entire grime & drum & bass type emcee scene shit I give much love and everyone world wide for keeping house & garage soul sounds alive man i gove major thanks to my parent's for leaving me with this legacy of music i was only born 95 I'm 21 still a baby but having family from Chicago new jersey & new york I grew up learning & hearing nothing but these types of music thing's changed once I gotta taste of the u.k. style at 15 years old so graceful to have had the chance to live with another generation & learn rather then growing up on my own with my generation.
You could also say hip house influenced eurodance/Euro house too.
***** World up brotha
i`m sure it wasn`t as you put it buddy personally i love house music +genres but it was hip hop and b-boy genre that influenced me still got my street sound electro compilation albums but before it was commercially branded Rave leading to conformity and Drug-culture we had tv & radio in the uk house music, acid house the underground we even had our own electronic music pioneers ....Swift Cee why do you think they have no idea of there influences ? and how old you in 1983 ?
What is the perception of eurodance within the underground community?
Lol personally i find most of eurodance beats grating lol and i don’t like how the actual vocalists usually weren’t the ones in the videos and on stage.
such an underrated sub-genre
how can u call a sound that kicked of housemusic a subgenre THIS WAS THE GENRE jeeeszzz
This stuff totally beats any rap you hear on the radio nowadays.
The real shit-anyone who wants to dismiss this as cheesy commercial music does not know their history this is trail-blazing pioneering music from a bunch of mavericks who went unrecognised and who did it for the love of house! I'm a hip-hop and house addict and i love this music thank you for posting!
This was great to watch. I was into both House and Hip Hop as a teenager in the late 1980s here in Manchester, UK. Hip House, and house-influenced rap, was getting plenty of air play and club play over here. Off the top of my head, stuff like:
Turn Up The Bass - Tyree & Kool Rock Steady.
Hip House - Fast Eddie.
Let It Roll - Doug Lazy.
Definition of a Track - Precious.
Dig This - KA Posse
Let’s Move Let’s Groove - (can’t remember now who did it)
For Those Who Like to Groove - Twin Hype.
HOUSE is HOUSE. Just different styles, 1 Nation under a Groove!
Remember King Sun!!!
The breeze
From one who knows these guys personally... these are the cats that made New York rappers put a hip house track on their LP back between 1987-90 just to sound hip.
Only two tracks I know that actually pulled it off with ease: Queen Latifah's Come Into My House and Jungle Brothers' I'll House You
Dang u right
Their music completely enhance my life in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. I was a 70's and 80's rocker and then I met a friend who hooked me on house and I was forever changed. Bought my first set of z cavaricci's and began clubbing in my city of Chicago. One of the best times of my life.
THEY WALKED SO EVERYONE AFTER THEM COULD RUN! This influenced so many people & artists in so many ways
Turn up the bass!!!😎🎵🎙🏠💪💪💪
Hip House was slammin' hard in UK back in 88'. Fast Eddie's "Lets Go' and "Can u still dance' were absolutely rockin' it at the illegal warehouse jams in and around London back then. I'd go back and do it all again f i could.
absolute Legends ! ..mentors that deserve respect
THANKS for uploading it!
i was a big hip house fan back in 88/89 , grab every dj intl. release i could get... i was just 15/16 years old and fast eddie was my hero....
cheers from germany!
damn, what a cool cat Fast Eddie was!
Loved and still love Hip House, a big part of my partying/rave life. 57 now and still listen to this amazing music ❤
It's crazy how young these kids were when they started going big doing this stuff!
hip house definitely inspired early rave which turned into jungle / drum n bass. love it!
When I was in high school I hated house/techno jungle etc ; being from Louisiana. After I went to the army and started hitting different states and countries and clubbing , I fell in love with all of it. It made ppl go crazy in the club
You're from Louisiana. Music is totally different. I love House. I'm
Chicago. You might enjoy Zydeco. It's all great!!
I love house music, I love how it has evolved over the years. Hip House, Electro House, Progressive House, Long Live House Music!!
Always loved Hip House! Thanks for this documentary!
Glad this was documented at the time.
Quite interesting to see the Chicago - NJ House music connection during this period...something that's not talked or written about.
clubhead433 word. this is very true.
Tyree Cooper!!! Legend!!!
This is essential viewing!
Can't never beat Hip-House !!
I was in the background keeping people out of the studio. It feels like yesterday every time I watch it.
Still banging great music fast Eddie was the best is the best!!!!
hip house will never die!
We used to get down to this music at the teen dance club McGreevy's in Glenview (Chicago suburb). This was back in 1989, the days of z cavariccis, cardigans and turtleneck sweaters! Thanks for this blast from the past.
It was filmed in the USA but shown and heard on the BBC throughout the world. This is the only copy I know of. Stay in the mix!
Thanks for the upload. I really liked the DJ international releases back in the day. I think the genre was killed by the large number of copycats, who used the same samples and same sounds. When the Mixmasters - In the mix release came out on DJ international, the instrumental versions (including the awesome Fast Eddie remix) were just better, that just sealed the thing. Also, the copious sampling was only "allowed" until the early 90's.
Brilliant upload and a great short documentary. Thanks for sharing this piece of dance music history with the world showing people doing good things of many years ago. More documentaries like this please. 10 out of 10.
Cleanest 707 I've ever seen.
Word is bond. You will never hear music like this...or go to a party as live. This was a time when peops were ACTUALLY dancing...thugs and all!
when hip house started to die out in the early 1990's. House music peaked and broke off into different sub-genres and forms from it. With hip hop, rock n' roll, and techno widely taking over the world. House music eventually became and remained underground mostly til this day.
what country do you live in lol?
Say what!!!??? :)))))))) Really? Where have you been for the last about 20 years? Google some radio-stations and update yourself, buddy ;)
...besides, Techno becomes from House. House, Techno, Dance, Progressive, HardTech... are Electro. So yes, the three big musical trends were HipHop - Rock (and subgenres) - Electro. House became the less popular in between 90 - 2005. Then came back as New House, Minimal House and Rap Rave.
@@andraousmagnus442Magnus techno didn't come from house you idiot it was separate from house and made from Detroit .stop talking about shit you don't know.it started experimentally and was around the time of the late 70s
@@interracial2564 Do you really need to be that disrespectful?
At the tender age of 15 I was a mad fan. Used to race home from school every Fri to record the only show that used to play this stuff. I knew it all! Thanks for uploading the clip!
Thank U For The Hip House and the Documentary Fast Eddie
Along with Ka Posse, Sundance, Rocky Jones, Diva, Kool Rock Steady, TBC, Mr. Lee, KC Flight, Fascination, Twin Hype, Tyree, K Alexi, Too Nice, Liddell Townsell, Julian Jumpin Perez, Maro Smokin Diaz, Jungle Crew, Adonis, and White Night they all did hip house in Chi Town And Many More!
this music was my 1st introduction house. I remember looking at the vdo's and seeing the dancers and their gear and saying feeling like that's how I want to move and that's the beat/spirit I want to explore.
FIRE!
Those were the days baby! Going to DJ International & Hot Jams to buy cassettes. Miss that shit.
back to the oldSKOOL!!!!!!!!!! SHOUT FROM HOLLAND!!!!
Mr. V is a pioneer of the new Hip House movement.
Got a really awesome 30min lve-mix with a lot of great hits in there on casette recorded in 1990 from Dutch radio. Still have to put the mix on my computer though. This style was a nice addition to Acid, Hip Hop and Techno in those days and produces some great hits that still sounds great today. It shows that having all the flashy electronics nowadays doesn't automatically lead to a qualitiy production.
love hip-house im a 80's kid an miss the old school vibes
Thanks Boogie
DJ Marley Marl on WBLS NY , was the person who first started mixing house and hip hop on his midday show in 87-88.

THE biggest influence to my music. I adore hiphouse.
Hip-House was the shit! Came and went too fast. 88-91, faded out in 92. By 93, gone.
Still like to watch in 2022
I came here only because as a child kid n play felt houseish but not in a non hiphop way, i never seen them as separate back then. Still dont. Just branches of the black music tree, freestyle felt the same as this "hip house" but more on the rnb side... Glad someone had a camera tho...

He and most of the pioneers of house music are on IG and other social media platforms.
That was great! Thanx for sharing it.

Fort Campbell,Ky.1989'! That's when we where getting our boogie on to the Hip-House!
AHHH yes there it is! 5:56 - Mara Lakour, Bleu Mood. Now I know where that's from lmao!
Rampant racism in the record industry is why this music didn't get bigger and record companies found people to mangle the style and profit from it.
Bustin' super duper trooper...
Great featurette, thanks for the upload :)
house music is forever
dj Sober
