Now me and my 36 year old son follow them and I'm proud to say my 3 year old grandson knows the words to all the hits..... god bless you tim you gave many of us a reason to get up in the morning and somehow the day seems to get better...

Trust me when I say Tim is not underrated. Many people love him. Have been with him and his bands/solo careers and with Lars, Matt, all the boys for 30 years. Nothing underrated about him. Maybe to gen Z, but Gen Z is just learning and are young but once they hear his music they'll love it too.

I can't think of another singer/songwriter that has dropped as many hard hitting, heart fealt, honest, and real songs as Tim Armstrong, Rancid alone put out a prolific catalogue of absolute fucking classics and that's just one project.
I still feel like I did thirty years ago every time I hear Ruby Soho. I remember searching every music shop I came across for any volume of Give Em' the Boot that I didn't have, and as I matured Tim was still out there dropping some of the best musical poetry ever dropped.
I can't think of a better sound track to have rolling as we all journey to the end.

I don't buy that "SELL OUT" shit, they worked hard, endless tours, record after record, side projects, solo stuff....nobody can say they didn't deserve few bucks. I am not into the band too much, but i respect their dedication. At least, they are not afraid trying new sounds and still sounding just like RANCID

One of the few bands I've listened to for 30 years and still listen to regularly. The alchemy of Tim, Matt and Lars is almost unmatched in rock music, never mind Punk Rock. Proof positive that it doesn't matter how sloppy you are sometimes ( and I mean that as a compliment, I think their ramshackle nature, especially live is one of their USPs), if it's good and has passion it will resonate with people of all ages forever. Nobody has captured listless adolescence and a kind of hopeful loneliness as beautifully as Tim.

EpiTome (just like the name you gave this channel), or Epitaph (to my knowledge Rancid's label) could make or unmake a band's success. It's really a very small thing that could spell a huge significance, depending on the magnitude we are dealing with. Take for example the case of the Crimean peninsula (the "Little Green Melon") which had caused the world so much trouble since time immemorial, but which is also crucial for the final resolution of the world's problems. Rancid, to my mind, is really just like that, a group however small could make a world of difference in this transitory period. Good wishes for the New Year 2024 !

Time, hi, enjoying your hard work, the truths about this band, I never thought there would be a day making documenty. Back than , I never seen a video. In the late 80's it was grunge and punk tapes from the west Coast during school. Minor threat, fugazi and than a nirvana and I believe greenday and operation ivy were mixing in our scene. The way you capture their story is so great because once you hear rancid you can't get over the great giggle of some happiness, you explain the music why, and than the relations Tim had, explains scenes of the time I never caught. Even with maximum rock n roll issues of tapes available with reviews from every scene, you just needed the survival kit. Rancid. Matt Freeman " is family" that explains everything. Fredrickson, spelling, is a great guy, he has great crowd control perspective. Shows in the late 90's I caught, distillers opened, she walked passed me and I got the big f off after the show, I thought maybe because she's shy and her performance was her own critic, it was phenomenal. I'm excited for the latest tour with green day but the size of the venue, I never realized they played bigger crowds than lallopolza. Yep I'm old, 53, I can't say I tolerate much music, anymore, I listen to the clouds and wind of a small city with trains and sirens, but when I put rancid on, I fall in love and have to block myself, realizing what has been living forever, a moment in time they worked hard for for every on of us joining the music of punk rock, it's not about being rude, it's not about having to accept another s rudeness, it's about the appropriate survival, and we do it like falling dominos. I am thankful Time of your adoration of rancid. Thank you and happy new year 2024. Man.. I love them. ❤

Operation Ivy was together 86 to 88 that grunge shit came out in 92 and got the record Mudhoney was the king of grunge Kurt Cobain and his murderer Courtney Love is all Hollywood bullshit far from any punk. And Lars Fredrickson is a complete asshole, at least he was Everytime my band played with Rancid, and anytime people I know went to politely meet him. When I was younger living in Tennessee in early 2000s no internet, it brought me so much peace. I would hand write letters to merch sites and record shops with money inside for shipping and always $2 extra. I would hear tim and lars scream about concrete jungles but I'd be staring out at open cow pastures just imagining things in my head. EVERYONE thought I was weird. I was rocking out to clash, rancid, germs, casualties while everyone else was listening to green day who seems to commercial for me. Rancid always had the reggae edge that turned squares off. But I LOVED IT

They clearly do music for their mental health, which is mixed bag in audience because they've done prolifically great music and could persist, but culture doesn't know which way to evolve, yet if rancid and some others did music sparingly the next two decades, they might come back with a vengeance in their 80's because medicine technology is trending that way....meanwhile while there's thousands of great bands, there's under twenty the stature of rancid, that are as interesting. It's fascinating to learn about their lives. Rancid could have entirely imploded at many turns given the members volatility, but they completely did not as contributors to music and the specific genre. Astoundingly high functioning, given it's really good work when it is
