    I love how the 7 trams are battling each other and it’s so adorable seeing trams pushing each other

    I have some questions about this layout - if you used insulated track connectors would that solve the short circuits and then you could use 2 controllers - where would they go and where do we put the power points - in the loops?

    Всё-таки у каждой страны свои трамвайные традиции!

    That’s really cool. My favourite tram would have to be that really long one. You got yourself a new sub.

    Its like watching an episode of the old Adams family show where he wrecks his trains..

    Great video, place the camera down at street level for a better vid...

    Two trams at a time would have been much better perhaps also showing that they are done at identical controller setting and noting which one performs better. Just an opinion and I don't even have tram.

      Belated thanks for your idea redstorm2003. In my latest tram test video, I used different turnout settings that keep up to 5 trams on the same route and controller. Less exciting, but a better technical comparison.

    Will they crash or do they have crash prevention built in? Thanks

    • @theonetruescale
      @theonetruescale  Před 5 lety +1

      I have no automatic crash prevention at all. You can see in videos that trams crash often when many are run on such a small layout. I have not found crashes to damage my models (e.g. bad running or scratches) at scale prototype tram speeds.

    Listening in full again to your Vid it appears that the Combino is or was by Modemo.

    How many different railcars do you own? And how easy is it to obtain this, at least over here in Europe, rather obscure way of model rail roading? I found a retailer in Germany that can order the basic two track oval. However, only after having made a reservation, so it can take a while before the product can be shipped to me. That’s a serious problem because that might be the reason these beautiful trams stay niche products. Greetings from Hekelingen, Holland. Willem. (Who despite all this will order that two track oval, it will set me back €200. Quite affordable if you take into account what the seperate parts cost. And I finally have a nice basic layout for my three Bachman PCC trolleys.)

      Hi leyland9999. Sorry to reply so late. Yes, I have a lot of Japanese N scale trams! I get most of them from Hobby Search in Japan. They are a great international supplier of Japanese model trains, with good discounts, reasonable shipping options (before Covid-29), excellent search tools and item info, especially photos, and English translations that are almost useful. Here is there tram search:

      Please be aware that the Japanese model train market is very fast moving and very popular items can sell out literally minutes after becoming available. Most modelers pre-order items when they are announced and wait months. Unlike Europe’s Nürnberg Messe, new items are announced randomly throughout the year. Also unlike Europe, release schedules are generally reliable to a month or two. Hobby Search has a very sophisticated system for pre-ordering and shipping options which appeas a bit daunting, but is very helpful and logical. Good luck.

      @@theonetruescale Thank you! I’ll have a look.

    Hi Dunnyrail again, have been searching sort of in vain for a Multi Section Combino, any clues where I may get one?

    • @theonetruescale
      @theonetruescale  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the lighting tip Dunny. I got my Modemo Hiroshima “Combino” from Hobby Search in 2016. Learn how to use their complex but useful search tools on their site and check this link often. Better yet, sign in and get them to email you when what you want is available. Act fast if you get an email, because popular items sell out in minutes to weeks. Good luck. I don’t recommend eBay for it because you might get a first run (prior to 2016) and it ran notoriously badly.

    where do you buy the 5 car combino?

    • @theonetruescale
      @theonetruescale  Před 5 lety

      I got it through Hobby Search (Japan), but last stocked in 2016. You can register and get them to send you an email if it is restocked. If that happens, sellouts are fast can be minutes to weeks.
