    I really like the Nordhavn company in many ways, very nice looking boats, the people in the management seem to be really interrested in what they do, and its a humble company which seem to respect diversities and cultural meetings. Thats what I read out of these great videos!

    Beautiful woodwork and interior design once again. Seems like this is a signature of Nordhavn yachts and I love it. No mistaking these interiors for luxury houses or condos. These interiors say luxury marine vessels, period. I can’t imagine how wonderful it must be to own one of these and make plans to go see the world in it. That would be the life alright.

    I wish they’d start with a tour of the interior. I really like how their yachts are 4 stories of living space. So much room given the whatever the length. Nordhavn and Bering are my favourite manufacturers based on what I’ve seen. Each company has its own strengths.

      @manos3790 Před 4 lety +1

      I totally agree pal. The one thing that grates me is Nordhavn were formally made in the Netherlands (if my assumption's are correct) where production costs are approx 5-8 times the cost of China, therefore they've no chance of getting the western world asking price from me. It would leave a rather bad taste in my mouth.

    • @xj1716
      @xj1716 Před 4 lety +1

      @@manos3790 you need to do your research there buddy they were never made in the Netherlands the design with the raked windshield is reminiscent of fishing trawlers in those northern countries but no always made in Taiwan at the wonderful tashang shipyard craftsman produced work that rivals / surpasses any domestic builder or even European builders and as far as the hull goes it is 2 plus inches of solid GRP and they also offer a very thick steel reinforcement plate on the bow for your concerns for trees floating there's also forward looking sonar that is semi useful.

    • @randydesoto
      @randydesoto Před 8 lety +3

      +Minimax972 That varies by mission.
      For a simple booze cruise (4 hours out and return to port) one would want -- at minimum -- an able pilot, a competent deckhand and probably a deck monkey.
      For coastal cruising (cruise to different ports with only occasional overnight passages) one would probably want an able pilot, a deckhand competent to stand watch and maybe two deck monkeys -- who can cook, do laundry, etc.
      For full-on passage making (24/7 operation for a week or weeks) I would spec the minimum crew as an able captain with significant blue water experience, an able pilot with significant mechanical experience and two competent deck hands able to stand watch.
      When looking a accommodations, this size range focuses on multitasked operation - so we're taking about roles more than bodies. The owner is generally going to be able to act as pilot and will be very familiar with the ship's systems. The owner's family members might be able to act as a stew/chef...or stand watch. Or maybe they hire a stew/chef who is capable to act as a deck monkey. Or maybe hire a watch-keeper who is also a phenomenal bartender.

      It’s cost prohibitive to build a lot of products in the US .the labor cost alone would double the price of yacht, I’m a union member for almost 40 years. Almost all the products we install are from Other countries. This also has to to with our own greed , we want our pension funds , annuities, and other investments and funds to make the most in returns, the only way this happens is for cheaper products and labor to make Goods so the companies our funds are invested in make the most in returns. Try to go a month with only buying products made in The US it’s almost impossible. Most things you think are made in the US are just ASSEMBLED here , parts are made elsewhere
