- Q: Your videos are just slideshows! I expected a huge studio full of synthesizers, you playing them, and all the sounds and a pony!
A: I’m completely blind. And I don’t have a pony.
Q: Your mixing and mastering are not like the original! I expect it all to be perfect!
A: My channel is about synthesis and sound design. Creating sounds. My channel is not about mixing and mastering. My mixing is done to illustrate how sounds work together. My mastering only serves the purpose of making my videos sound okay on most gadgets. And I don’t have a pony.
Q: I still expect perfect visuals, perfect mixing and mastering to go with your sound programming and design work!
A: If you want to sponsor all of it, you know where to reach me. We'll rent the most expensive yacht, stuff it with synths, SSL mixing desk, mixing and mastering pros, camera people, and maybe even a pony. Travel around the world and make videos about me programming synths. It’s the only logical thing to do.

Now THIS is how it sounds. I have seen many covers on yt, but this is the one.
Thx,
Hope you checked out the lossless. I've made a few changes since. Nothing big but it's always work in progress. :D

@@Hedge777yes, its great, cannot imagine how can someone know these sounds.. its like: hey, this is thr organ sound from a Roland xy synth 😮😊
Some input from the producers and friends of the producers. But mostly. Just being around synths all my life. :p

Frickin nailed it.
I swear every time I try to write a bassline I end up back at Haddaway. Amazing work!
Whatever good things we build end up building us - also counts for Future Crew.
Hedge you are the MASTER 😎
Great work. The actual What Is Love bass was recorded on the FB-01. I was told this by Charles Pierre from London Beat who is friends with Haddy and Tony Hendrik.
Great info! An earlier version of the 4OP chip then. I’m glad I went with FM attack and an analog sub though. Initially I was convinced (probably ear fatigue) it was a processed SH-101.

Did he mention any other original synths used in the song as well?
Wow! Just an incredible recreation! Great job, thank you for the detailed breakdown!
Nice job fella! 😉👍🏻
Excellent!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks!!!! Thanks again!
Cool!!!
Incredible work !!
BRO ♥ super video !!
awesome as usual my friend :)👽
👍
Super,👍
Complimenti! Lavoro molto accurato.
Hedge777, it seems, you do love Haddaway. So, you should explore one artist, who is better kind of Haddaway! Yes, it is CB Milton. It’s a Loving Thing or A Real Love - i still love these songs after 30 years of hard listening.
I don't necessarily, but my Spanish woman certainly does!
For CB Milton a cappella is a must. Without it. Not too much going on. If I was to remake it. But just listening to it brings back memories. :p

Been working on that track for a few days now thanks to your vidéo. I'm still struggling and was wandering if you could give me some advice on which snare you used, and how did you design the pwm sequence please?
I’m working on other projects now. But because this is fresh in my memory still. May be this will help.
Clap and snare came from Zero G Data CD1. As did the vocals. It’s the same clap you hear me when I did the clap roll.
Pulse sequence is a static PWM setting (somewhere where things start to thin out. I’d say 80%). Add a sub. Add chorus. Add 16th note delay (or MIDI delay like I did). Only other thing I did was change ADSR to have a slightly more percussive envelope. Like for the PWM lead.

Great video! Any chance you're willing to share which sample CD the vocal are from? Thanks!
I think I touch on that in the video and description as well. But you want ZERO-G DataFile CDs. CD1 (Vocals folder).

Interesting, I always thought the MKS-80 PWM sound were a sync sound. Never came to my mind to check PWM here.
Você poderia enviar as stems desse projeto?
I only share sounds and stems with people that I collaborate with. I don't just give things away. :-)
Tell it to mr straight, Hedge. Did me seeing the thumbnail of the MKS-80 w/ MPG-80 turn this video into “clickbait” for me since I went to it like a moth to a flame?
The organ on the Haddaway original always reminded me of the score from Cool World. Possibly because I first saw that movie before I heard the song.
Which track from Cool World?
