Park Plaza Bangkok Soi 18

This hotel is located on a nice quiet Soi (side street) but still just 5 minutes walk from all the action such as the nightlife area Soi Cowboy, Terminal 21 shopping centre, Asok BTS station (Skytrain) and Sukhumvit MRT station (Metro/Underground).
I paid a total of 5,460.67 THB for a Junior Suite for 2 nights including breakfast. This is about 2,730 THB for 1 night, which is about £60 or $76. You can see it all on CZcams at love flying and hotels. The Junior Suite is not huge but was very comfortable and had an excellent rain shower in the bathroom! More on this later.
The hotel’s concierge and bellman always greet you warmly! Check in was okay. For your reference, I am a Premium Tier member under the Radisson Rewards loyalty programme. However, disappointingly, I did not receive any upgrade.
The hotel has 8 floors, 125 rooms and suites, a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre and bar. The hotel also has a lobby bar and the main restaurant on the 2nd floor.
The room is nicely decorated. I liked the colour tones and the backdrop behind the bed. I noticed that the TV only faced the sofa (in the living room area) and not the bed. I also noted that there was no bar of soap on the sink but there was a pump-handle container located on the wall near the shower which contained hand wash.
The shower cubicle contained a rain shower which was excellent! Good pressure! The toilet was also in a separate cubicle which is better if you are sharing the suite.
The TV had a decent selection of cable channels. The bed was also comfortable and the air conditioning unit was not too noisy! (Not like the Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok).
The swimming pool is a nice shape for doing lengths or just having a relaxing dip. It is also nice as there is a bar just next to it! The fitness centre is rather small but larger than that at the other Park Plaza.
Breakfast too has more options than its sister hotel. On arrival at breakfast, Chef Kom showed me each dish and was so friendly and helpful. I was then served by two ladies, Plnin and Jake, who were so kind and sweet and again were always on hand to check if I am ok or if I need anything else. I should say, I am 99% blind, hence why I appreciate the excellent service.
Overall, I think this hotel is excellent value for money and a significant step up compared to its sister hotel. I like the quiet side street and location as well as the room and amenities for the price! So, I would stay at this hotel again!
