I agree 100% with everything you said. Cheyenne for sure missed the mark on this one compared to other companies. I’ve had one for less then 24 hours and already hate they way it functions. I expected a lot more from Cheyenne. I’ve had multiple Cheyenne Hawk pens and loved them. But bought an FK Flux last year, and that thing is awesome and simple to use. Probably going to sell my Sol Nova Unlimited honestly.

that battery system seems annoying to work with as well compared to the system the exo and flux have. I have a flux and a exo 3.2 and they are both awesome but i wish fk would add the give system that the xion has, i think it works better than the e give.
Thanks Chris - I currently use an Inkjecta flite X1 (most versatile wireless machine in existence) but am wanting to try a pen style machine to see if I like the feel of them and resell it if I don’t like it. I’m interested in your opinion on which you think would have the best resale value. 🇦🇺
Sell it for what you think it’s worth. If I bought a machine and used it say once or twice I’d maybe sell it for just under the price I paid for it. Some people sell them for way less though.
What are your top 3 machines for lining and shading
The stroke does not affect the stitch frequency of the machine. The voltage does. And this is exactly why stroke affects the hardness of the hit. Because the needles goes through shorter or longer distance on the same time.
This is basic physics, look it up.
So basically you ran the machine on a higher frequency, that's probably why it got more irritated.
Deleted my first reply as after rewatching my video and reading your comment I don’t think you understand what I meant in the video.
If a 2.5mm stroke machine runs at 7 volts and a 4.0 stroke machine runs at 7 volts. They will both have a different stitch frequency at that voltage range due to the difference in stroke length. So to match the stitches per second, stitch frequency or punches per second on the 2.5 you would need to increase the speed of the 4.0 by increasing the voltage. which as I said in the video will cause more trauma because it’s a 4.0
In all fairness common sense dictates that a longer stroke machine is going to hit harder.

The stroke length and the voltage affects the stitch frequency. Also the motor affects the stitch frequency as some motors will run fast or slower etc.
Just to be extra sure I also contacted Cheyenne to double check what I said in the video is correct . If I’m wrong I’ll be the first to make a correction.

@@ThatTattooShow well in that configuration 4.0 will stay inside the skin a little bit longer than 2,5 but then both run with same speed. that means the frequency is the same since they both need same time to finish 1 cycle.
Can you review the dragon hawk mast saber?
how would you value the 4.0 vs the 3.5 in regard of styles? I mean you can do shading and lining with both, lining better with the one, shading better with the other, but I would really be interested in a precise comparison. Thaanks so much :)
Thats probably a good comparison in itself. both machines are exactly the same other than the stroke length. you will probably have slightly less battery life in the 4.0 compared to the 3.5 but you nailed it in the comment, "shading and lining with both, lining better with the one, shading better with the other"
I sold my sol nova unlimited and got bishop powerwands instead.. lot easier to use and lighter and smaller.
I hear the Cheyenne 4.0 has a lower volt motor than the flux. For that price would like a stronger motor to push bigger needle groupings.
From what i can gather they both have faulhaber motors. I’ll double check and get back to you.
I agree I don’t like the concept of not having a read out. I have the flux and I love that machine

hey there Chris, please please please tell me that the Powerbolts for the EXO blink when charging properly?
I'm having such a difficult time finding a good Plug (with usb) to charge the bolt. I purchased the EXO second hand, read the manual - to me it doesn't mention while charging blinks this colour that colour. Your help would be appreciated dude. cheers
As it’s charging it will blink. The colour will determine how much % battery. When it’s on solid green then the battery is fully charged.
The recommended charging cable is the small one that comes with it.
I do not see a big advantage on color code against number display ... totally agree on button vs motion control, though
Colour code led means you can have a smaller unit. Having a number display can make the battery wider in parts. If you look at the critical batteries it sticks out on the side more than the lightning bolt.
@@ThatTattooShow that's a good point... but for me itdidn't work... i simply ended up going thru the sound of it, rather that get to decode de color code. I know that red is 8v and that's it, the rest for me is slower or quicker than 8v, by sound.
Hey man. Ive been using the original 3.5 machines for 3!years. This may blow your mond but set the machine down and roll it to turn it on and off. You dont need to hit the button on machine. 😮
Isn’t that just a ball ache having to put your machine down to roll it just to turn it off and on?
Trying to find the best all arounder, shading and lining. Neuma 4 or this nova unlimited 3.5…. Neuma is more versatile due to changing cams. Takes 30 seconds. So either buying brand new neuma4 or buying used unlimited 3.5.
Which would you get for all around lining / shading?
For all round lining shading and colour packing.

Neuma is a good shout due to the ability to swap cams,

I'm re testing the machine and the 4.0 is nice. Im just not a fan of the gesture control that's all.
Sponsership is a complete fucking nightmare as far as I’m concerned. Sponsored artists are too afraid to criticise because they think they’ll get dropped. I sometimes use the 3.5 with Critical batteries because like you, I want the display and buttons.
I had the thunder and the first pen....While coils beat my wrist up abit after years. the pen broke down and I waited for ages for it to be repaired. And the customer service was dirt.The pen was about 11 months old and since I screwed the part off that had the motor in it . Just to see why it was making a horrible noise and wasnt pushing the needle.They said I didnt have any warrenty on it. Why dont they build it where you cant take apart without using tools .so I paid another 500 to fix .End of story is i gave it away. I even felt bad to sell it to a buddy. It was good I did just give it away. It broke down again within 4 months. So now it hangs on the wall in Holland as a lemon Machine. And I never bought another one from this company. Been working with ink machines( Dragonflys and Stingrays) for a few years now never a problem . But I am interested in the fk iron machine.Cheers

These volts that don,t write on the machine are something spectacular,eventually when you get used to it ,you know exactly how many volts machine have because you know what angle the volt is. I don,t know why Cheyenne makes you introduce this incredible product,but if you don,t know what you,ve got,you can only say good for Fk irons.As far as I know,a few months ago ,you were saying you were going to give away Cheyenne machine,I don,t know anything about it,even though I personally don,t need it.Cheyenne I don,t understand why you give that beauty to him,cao.
Cheyenne give us the machines because we review them fairly and without bias. Gesture control is a very divisive control system. Some like it but many don't.
If you'd like them to give you a machine it's simple. Just spend 15 grand on cameras and audio equipment. Set up a youtube channel, fund it yourself for over a year and spend countless hours editing and polishing your videos.
But what do we know right? We've only been professional tattooists for a decade. Im sure you'll do it much better.
@@ThatTattooShow I'm still standing by my belief that this system is the best thing that's ever been, maybe they don't know it now, but they're going to.I can't afford it, such an expensive machine, but I've had it in my hands, and when' setting the machine in different corners, you know exactly what kind of volts you work with. It's not even too close to what you introduced her.
15 years experience in tattooing tells me that gesture control is a flawed design. you have only held it in your hands, I've spent weeks tattooing with the machine and in my opinion the gesture control and lack of read out is not suitable. The machine is good and runs well. ive been using Cheyenne for years I have the spirit, thunder, hawk pen and sol nova, but the gesture control and lack of readout on the sol unlimited is not good especially when you are swapping between different brands of cart and having to guess the voltage, as it slows down the process. maybe if you use that machine and try other brands of wireless machines extensively you will have a better understanding of what im saying. in my opinion using the the sol nova with a battery like a critical is a better option.

It is your belief, based solely on holding it. BUT you haven't actually used it. We both have. I'm holding the machine at 36.78965º can you tell me what the voltage is? User 'input feedback' is very important in mechanical design that's why you have a display inside your car instead of just being expected to 'know' when your handbrake is on. It's design 101. p

is a different version of the same machine. I'm not sure, but i think 4.0 stands for a 4mm stroke, different from the 3.5 mm from the previous original unlimited. just guessing from the content

It depends on what you want from a machine. They are both good machines, both use faulhauber motors, both made by reputable companies. I prefer the flux due to the controls and the ability to add an rca module, but that’s just my personal opinion. I also use the sol nova 3.5 with a critical battery.
ehhh, that voltage change gets me every time. I will never like this machine as long as its designed this way. Kind of disappointing from Cheyenne. Cheyenne, make a really dope wireless machine with voltage display and physical buttons to change the voltage with disposable grips.
