    I have this pump but not the battery version, i found it didnt fit my sandbanks board valve because of some plastic lugs at each side, I had to get the dremell on them to file them off, i contacted outdoormaster who sent me some spares but told me it wasn't a design fault, that all of the adaptors for this pump had the lugs, its definitely worth checking different boards, its a brilliant pump and other than that i am really happy with it.

      Hi, I've found using a smaller seal on the valve end of the pump can sometimes help. The plastic inside the hose attachment is actually a the moulding of the adapter and I remove them on all of my pumps. It can also lead to air coming out after pumping as it can catch on the boards valve and open it up.
      Great pump though I've found.

    We have really put our Cachalot to the test so far this year and it's incredible. Perfect video, BTW. To-the-point with everything we need to know.

      Thanks, kind of you to say so. Was a lot of fun doing this review and it's my go to pump now.

    Just bought it but it takes forever to charge. I use the usb c port because i don't have a car. 6 hours later and still not full

      A few people have seen this issue now, basically after about 4 hours of charge it is full but the indicator isn't showing full. I'll reach out to Outdoormaster and see if it's a known issue. It's a great pump though so you'll be fine to use it. Thanks for dropping me a comment.

    Just bought a Sea Eagle TC16 inflatable canoe. Its 16' long with three panels that inflate to 10psi. Do you think the Cachalot 2S could inflate that in one shot or do you think i'll need a larger pump?

    • @Dreadysays
      @Dreadysays  Před 5 dny

      Hard to say unless you know the volume. An average SUP is around 120l of air. If you aren't sure check out the larger pumps I've reviewed, the Shark 3 for example has a much larger battery.

      @@Dreadysaysthanks for the response. The size of the Cachalot 2S is definitely appealing, but I suppose the Shark 3 is probably better suited.

    Thanks for making this video and taking the time to cover these tests. Do you happen to know if the pump will run with full force on the wired 12v supply while the battery is fully depleted? If yes, whats the power draw in that state? Based on the 4amp draw I suspect the pump was running on both the wired 12v supply as well as the battery supply and the wired draw might go up as the battery level goes down..

    • @Dreadysays
      @Dreadysays  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi there! It sure does. The 12v appears to be a separate circuit as is the same with most of these style pumps.

      Would love to know too since my car's 12V is fused at 10A. If it only draws 4A I'm good but if it really draws 11A as you mentioned in the previous video it could burn the fuse.
      Nevertheless informative video, thanks.
      PS: the link in the description leads to the Cachalot 2 and not the 2S. Also not seeing the discount code in the description.

    Do you know how long it takes to charge? Im charging it for the first time and so far its only showing 2 bars charged after being on for nearly 6 hours

    • @Dreadysays
      @Dreadysays  Před 2 měsíci

      Mine took around 5 hours I believe. So that would be inline with 2 bars after 2 hours.

      Hi, when the bars stop moving it's fully charged. I've found that sometimes it will show as always charging, but if it's been on charge for about 5 hours it's full.

      I have the same issue with mine, the icon just keeps showing it's charging as if it's never full. There's no way to tell when it's fully charged.
      Used it during my holiday to inflate 2 SUP's and it worked great though, wouldn't wanna go sup without it anymore.
