It’s been said that when a suit fits well, it’s the most flattering thing a man can wear.
Whether you wear a suit every day, or only on occasion, ensuring you look your best and feel confident is something the experts at Harry Rosen have the experience to help you with.
Let me share a few pointers that we can apply, regardless of whether your style leans toward a classic or contemporary silhouette.
How the jacket hangs off your shoulders, and the drape of the lapel are the foundations when choosing a ready to wear suit. We want as good a fit as possible before we consider any alterations.
The shoulders should be rounded and smooth with no dimpling or rumpling.
The lapels should be flat and smooth against your chest.
The collar should be smooth against your neck with no bunching or gaping.
The jacket should be fitted to your body - top button at the slimmest part of your waist - with no pulling across the closure.
Sleeves should be smooth with minimal twisting and end just above your wrist, leaving a quarter to half an inch of your shirt cuff exposed.
Vents should lay flat with no flaring or tugging.
Now, on to the trousers.
Pants should be fastened at your natural waist. The seat should be smooth with no creasing or sagging.
The break should naturally crease just above your shoes.

He says that the suit should follow the lines of the body, but ignores the massive shoulder divots.
i also see a gap in the chest there?
and those pants are not on his natural waist. i realize there's some preference involved here, but you can't say that and then point to that waistline.
Its tight at the sleeve head but off the rack a good fit. 42 years tailoring experience.

That suit definitely doesn't fit him...the shoulders are a terrible fit..making dents and not smooth at all

Thank you! Glad someone said something. However, that dent on the shoulder is really hard to eliminate with ready to wear and MTM suits.
also that the shirt sleeve doesnt really show.
What about the length? It seems a little too short.
trousers are about an inch short of having a break.

I went and tried a jacket today for the first time. The seller told me it fitted perfect. I felt like I couldnt move so good. Is that normal? Im so used to wear hoodie
A jacket does have some natural restrictions of movement. What I feel in a jacket is a little restriction in the arms, like I'm wearing an elastic band around me below the underarm. I've always taken this as normal. By the time you get a jacket big enough to remove that restriction, you probably got a jacket that is several inches too big around the chest.

If the edge of the vent neatly covers your bottom, it's a perfect fit.
what if there are a couple wrinkles between the shoulder blades? What does this mean and how do you fix it?
That's the dreaded shoulder divot. Shoulders are the hardest part to get right and hardest part to fix. When one shops for a suit, that shoulder better be right in all ways, everything ELSE can be fixed by a tailor
Shoulder is acceptable, but could be improved, it's funny that Harry can't even find a perfect shoulder for their own promotion video.
What should be Blazer length for 5'7" height??

you have to measure your torso... everyone is different... im relatively tall but have a very short torso, im all arms and legs... google "how to measure torso length"

After reading all these comments: ppl know little about suits....you guys are crying about the shoulder but it’s a Canali suit so they’re little padded heavy so expression of the shoulder is more pronounced and muscular. As far as the length of the pants goes it is a modern day suit so it’s never short enough, specially when you got cuff. Remember when you wear flat front and narrow bottom, it should be just about touching your shoes, never breaking on your shoes. 👍

Tell these things to your advertising people. Harry Rosen is a terrible offender for jacket collar gap and shirt collar points far to small to rest within the lapel.

This may not work for everyone because not everyone has such a perfect body! When your arms are long, when your shoulders are too wide, you will find it impossible to find suitable fit!
You don't have to find one, just get one custom made
People in the comments complaining like crazy. This isn't a bespoke, tailored, or customized suit. It's just a general idea of what you might end up with from off the rack. All you people acting like you have money for bespoke stuff. LOL

the most important area; the shoulders, are fucked up, so the whole suit, in general, appears to be fucked up. Clearly off-the-rack.
