I agree with you, Optimus. As a person learning Japanese with a good understanding of the culture, I know that Japanese people are typically kind to people from different countries, often willing to assist a lost traveler. That streamer went too far, made a mockery of himself and us, and got what he deserved. Some Japanese people may see what happened and assume other people from outside Japan will do the same thing, which ultimately hurts our reputation.
Dudes like him are one of the reasons that Japanese folks, especially older folks dont take to kindly to people who aren't from Japan. I can understand if youve never been there and made a mistake once or twice, but intentionally antagonizing people isnt cool.
His behavior makes me afraid of visiting Japan tbh, I don't wanna be viewed as an idiot like him...

I lived in Japan for five years and for a Japanese person to slap somebody; they must’ve done something really bad.
