PNNL and Microsoft join forces to accelerate scientific discovery for clean energy solutions

PNNL’s multi-year collaboration with Microsoft marks the start of an exciting journey that will bring the power of AI to many aspects of scientific research. By working together, the teams have been able to create and synthesize a new battery material in less than nine months. This breakthrough shows the potential of AI, HPC, and quantum computing in the future, to radically accelerate scientific discovery in ways that could speed the way to a clean energy future and all manner of scientific discoveries.
