Highlight blocks is available for those with access to the glow up version. Everyone will eventually get access to it. If you want to make little "breaks" between your brainstorming sessions, you can add a heading instead. This is probably my favorite feature that Canva added during May 2024. Great info! my speaking voice and my writing voice are completely different. I usually just speak off the cuff, and when I write it allows my brain to slow down and thoughts to be gathered ….. much better writer than I am a speaker 😉
I can't Thank you enough for this tutorial!! I will be saving this to rewatch 😊, I'm working on a new video script in the next 2 days. I've been using Canva docs with no idea of these features. I've been training my ChatGPT 4-o to learn my voice & making my hook. So being able to do it straight in Canva is so wonderful. Maybe I will try Gemini soon for ideas also 🎉🎉

@@Meloyadina I recently tried Gemini a couple of times for some things. What I like about it is that it explains why it gives you the answer it gives you which I like that and the other thing is, I do like ChatGPT. I've looked at them more recently I've never really use them at all before, but I think they're great on getting ideas and then putting your own voice to it and, there may just be one or two words in there that stands out there like you know the light bulb goes on so it's definitely worth a try. I have to get used to formats things because it's so different from ChatGPT. But I think you'll like it 😉
You can access magic write with just about any document type. I tend to go to canva doc since it usually involves planning for me, meaning I want more space than typical layouts, but not Whiteboards with unlimited space where I can't find my streams of consciousness. Out of curiosity, why aren't you using Canva Docs?
@@TheCreatorClassroom I use Google Docs and don't like having all my eggs in one basket. For example, if I ever need to revert back to the free version of Canva, I wouldn't be able to share documents with all the folks I currently need to share with. Also Canva has this glitch where every time I connect my Google account it works fine for a few days but then the connection breaks and (because I use different emails) it's a major pain. Btw - I contacted Canva Support about this many times so at this point I just give up 😂
valid point. Yeah I have issues with connecting to things outside of Canva too. ie: I can't connect my channel to canva so I refuse to use the music and stuff that I could use, but I won't. In terms of documents, yeah I don't share what's in my document because it's just a running list of idea planning document. If I needed to share it, that's actually only view only possible at this time. I hope they make it to where we can create a template link with canva doc so I could share it in my upcoming email listing newsletter or to YT members to share it. They've added the ability recently to make one a brand template so that's headed in the right direction. AND the ability to share a view only link.

Are you on one called Canva Doc? It still works like I showed here. I just used it this morning. Great idea for a video. Creating a brainstorm document. I'll put that on my list to plqn and film for July next week. But for highlight blocks. Clixk the plus. Type in highlight blocks. There is one possibility if it's not there for you. I'm not sure if it's available in the "original " canva, and I'm in the glow up beta.

It could be a bug. Or it could be not there for the original version. On May 23rd they open3d up the doors to the beta version. And unless you signed up for that. You are still using the old one. But highlight blocks are coming. I believe they are rolling it out slowly. Next time I'm at my computer I'll look at my account with the old version and see if I can get it there.
