Yeah, I've noticed that as long as you have your heal up and don't get hit by nade (in case they have an Ana) you can sustain yourself pretty well.
Even when naded, run like hell, and you'll probably be fine
yeah, (i did the math) if you hit all your headshots on mauga (which you can bc of projectile changes) you heal for 120 per sec. Thats without using E, the BRRRR meta is comming ;(

It's weird. But as Flats rounds the corner, you can see the blast from the rock on the wall.
I'm genuinely impressed at how lethal and efficient Sigma is at a high level. In my first experiences of the game (bronze-silver, ~early 2021) I was convinced he was garbage, or that there was always a better alternative. I like to think that nowadays I have relatively good game knowledge, ok awareness and decent mechanical skills (now usually high platinum as of season 9) but seeing Flats (who arguably from his rank and just general experience and history is well rounded in all aspects), play a character like Sigma (that is also arguably well rounded and balanced) is just a perfect match and is much more interesting to watch and learn from any more specialized players, such as one tricks (godly mechanical skills, held back by relative lack of awareness and game knowledge) or some coaches (godly knowledge, held back by relative lack of mechanical skills)
I keep trying to tell people this very same thing. I keep getting accused of throwing or being a bad tank and then we win.
That'll happen no matter what. That's just the playerbase

They just don’t have good sustainability with him, his cardiac overdrive allows him to stall in those 1v whatever gun fight situations long enough for help to come or get out of there.

Mauga’s not that bad this season. In my opinion Rein is the only “bad” tank right now. He doesn’t have the sustainability literally every other tank has.

I just wish his lifesteal was reworked so it wouldn't be so strong and he wouldn't be so reliant on it, then they can just buff up his passive. Changing it to a capped rate as long as you're doing damage every, say, half second, means he gets stronger against squishies but can also be weaker against tanks, since shooting a bigger target doesn't necessarily mean you get more healing. Then overhealth generation can go back to 60% or maybe even higher since it doesn't stack as well with cardiac.
Going to more detail, each gun now does 72 dps and 144 with crits. 60% overhealth generation means you make 86.4 overhealth a second critting with one gun, slightly less than when he had 5 damage bullets and 50%. If you somehow managed to hit all headshots with both guns you could do 288 dps and get 178.6 overhealth. Cardiac overdrive could be changed so that as long as you do damage every half second, you heal at 100 hps, very slightly less than if you crit with one gun and have a 0.7 lifesteal modifier like he did a while ago. Current Mauga's lifesteal shooting both guns and only hitting body shots is 129.6 for comparison.

Theres main tank and off tank, but with the release of Mauga blizzard made the Cope Tank, the tank you switch you once you get stopmed and your mental is completely broken, and you want to get carried to a free win.

He just has a problem with dealing with Sigmas. Even Ana is easier to play around than a Sig
Cardiac Overdrive may be the best ability in the game for countering passive. 10% dmg reduction and everyone in your aura gets a life steal boost that's what? double the dps passive debuff?
I’ve been having a blast with Mauga this season with the prevalence of Ram, Winton, and Ball. Three fellow tanks that he eats alive
It's even more fun in my games I keep getting hog one tricks and just farming them

Every character is good. If everyone played for fun and to have a good time it would be better. But people see you pick a off meta hero and they flame, or the enemy team doesn't like your pick so it's just a how fast can we kill him. Then you switch and they just chase you down the rest of the match bc of your first pick.
Hes still got massive damage and its easier than before to sustain off squishies so he kinda got buffed with the stupid hitboxes
If they dont have a tank buster dps or discord orb, maybe even both, then Mauga is very OP

Make 6v6 it's own game mode, keep tanks health pools same as 5v5 open queue, cut shields in half, you have true overwatch 2.
One of the things I saw that would help is just designated main and off tanks so you can't do double shields and we can keep shields strong still

Ana main here: I hate Mauga. When facing him I rarely ever nade myself. My ENTIRE goal is to nade him as soon as he over extends.
If the enemy team doesnt have a kiriko or lifeweaver, or MAYBE a Mercy to bring him back, we win repeatedly.

And still easy to counter when one pops up too if your team isn’t brain dead so it’s great.
Mauga may be good but the devs still don't understand how much more fun he could be if they made his single fire more like soldier76. They would have to tune the numbers but balancing him around actual headshots instead of farming crits on flaming targets would be so much more fun, force him to have actual aim and let him play midrange more reliably
Actually they should make him get health based on how many ppl he hits, slams, and stuns on his charge. His charge is the most fun part about his kit and they should balance him around that instead of just hold down m1 m2.

This might be a controversial take, but I honestly think that Mauga didn't need a nerf on the duration of his ult, especially that you can destroy the cage with enough damage

@oneofthekindscarf8612 he used to have infinite ammo, but that was changed to him just getting an instant reload upon usage. I'm mainly talking about how long the cage would be up, it used to be 10 seconds, but they tuned down to 8 seconds now
