It’s clear that not many people actually watched Bellingham at Madrid this season. Particularly most of the media who constantly hype him up without providing context. If you actually watched Madrid this season you’d clearly know Bellingham does not dictate play, he doesn’t get that involved in the build up, and primarily thrived arriving late into the box and scoring scrappy goals in the box like McTominay for United. The biggest problem I see with Bellingham from English fans and the media is they’ve barely seen him play with Dortmund and Madrid. As a result, they have a very false expectation of how he actually plays.

Well he was never madrids main player this season. He never has taken games by the beck and dictated play. The english media have hyped him up to be world class and a generational player. Unfortunately though he just isnt.

Bellingham is surrounded by quality players at Madrid, he isn't in the England team.
Jude played the first game vs Serbia as #8/10 and he was more deeper. However Southgate made him play as false #9 and Kane and foden are fighting as #10 on the ball.

p.s. Club football and International football are indeed different but it did not stop Zidane winning both La Liga and the Champion's with Real Madrid and both the world cup and the Euros with France and likewise for many other players as well.
It is also factually true that in club football the players play together MUCH more often so that they can work things out better and develop cohesion but this is the same for everyone and it did not stop France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Brazil or Argentina from winning a major tournament.
I think the thumbnail words are an understatement of the year as Bellingham is in the top 5 midfielders in the world.
Could it be the fact that Bellingham is carrying a shoulder injury which might be affecting him his form, he was pretty anonymous in the champions league final as well
Ankle injury that he got in February vs girona and he hasn't been the best since that injury! I hope he gets more rest because playing as false #9 isn't for Jude!

Bellingham’s form dipped bcos Ancelotti started playing him deeper and on the left so vini can move inside
He’s playing a different role to the one he started the season with
Kroos is having great season because Jude was covering his defense responsibility! City and Bayern games Jude was playing as false #9 in order to help Brazilian boys! He was like a decoy and he said he hated that role!
Stretch the defense is the key phrase. England have been lacking in that regard. That's why we are clammering for Anthony Gordon.
I don't know why such as good player is not doing it to be honest. It is a mystery. I would be interested to hear what Zidane has to say about it.

Last comment. He’s being played out of position. He’s not a 10 who’s super creative and dictates play in the attacking third. He’s much better off as a box to box 8. He’s being played out of position for England.
