    Thank you so much for this video. I actually just ordered this DSP (actually, mine is the new X version) for my new car. Will be ordering the harness for it right now. LOVE all the control this unit gives you :) I believe my 2019 car will be on the list with the X version of this DSP :)

      Can I ask how this turned out? I've got a 2019 1LT, it doesn't have an amp in the trunk, and I'm thinking this module and harness will be what I need. Did you amplify all your speakers or just add a sub? You retained all factory functions and were able to control your chimes?

    great video, thanks for sharing all your great knowledge on car audio. Hope in time we see more DSPs, its a very interesting subject.
    One thing that i have never understood on car audio, is why aftermarket units don come with an optical/coax out, it would make a lot simpler/cleaner to send to a DSP.

    I have an ax-dsp installed in my 2017 Ford, it is one of the easiest to instal and use factory integration/dsp/crossover/eq combo units that you can get and the price point is excellent. Metra did suprisingly well with this product.

    So glad to finally see you guys review this, I've been debating on getting this and that exact T-Harness for my 2018 Chevy Trax since the DSP came out but I can't find the LAN10 harness for sale anywhere, especially a place that will ship to me internationally. I ended up ordering just the other GM LAN09 harness with the green and white connectors from sonic electronix. When it finally gets to me I am going to modify the white connector to fit the brown connector since they are essentially the same just keyed a bit different at the bottom and rewire it to get my hi-level and use one of my old Alpine mini brick amps for the time being and later get the kicker Key like what you did with Hailey's car.

    This was overwhelming but very good information. My current issue is that I have NO audio, No turn signal noise, No Onstar voice commands. No noise coming out the speakers at all. It just went out a week ago for no apparent reason. I've tried everything from checking fuses to buying service manual and nothing. This is as close as I'm going to get to fixing this issue. I have a 2018 chevy camaro with the 7inch display and No Bose or premium sound system. No factory amplifier of any kind. I don't know what to do. Please Help!

    I have a question about a DSP such as this... When you were setting it up using the RTA on your iPad you had the head unit set to zero for the mid bass and treble as well as fader and balance. 1. should mid bass and treble really be turned all the way down or should they be turned to the midpoint on the head unit, so you later have the ability to add or remove power at those frequencies? 2. Do you end up leaving the head unit set at a flat response mid bass and treble and use the equalizer built into the DSP going forward as your Equalization for all music types, or is the DSP equalizer just trying to even out any Peaks and valleys in the speaker's performance and you then go back to using mid bass and treble adjustments on the head unit when you are done? Thank you very much for any info you can give me I really enjoy all the videos on your Channel.

    • @Bee_Rhye
      @Bee_Rhye Před 6 lety +1

      Ōin Taylor you want the equalizer settings on the radio to be in the middle of their range (usually 0); this helps to ensure that you are only amplifying a flat, or unamplified, signal. Once the DSP is set to your liking, the equalizer on the radio is used to modify the sound per genre or song. For example, you might turn up the bass for Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, then you might turn it back down for LiL John: it is so much easier to readjust back to your normal sound profile when there are only 3 knobs instead of 32. I hope that helps you.

    • @OinTaylor
      @OinTaylor Před 6 lety

      @@Bee_Rhye yes thanks. This is what I was thinking. I guess I just depends on the head unit. Some would show your level at 0 when the slider or knob was set all the way down. Others would show a 0 level when the knob or slider is in the exact middle of the range. Say your head unit shows adjustments from 0-10. Would you want to do setup actually at 0 or do it at 5 so when completed you could still have that downward adjustment available (as if the total range was +5 to -5)?

    • @Bee_Rhye
      @Bee_Rhye Před 6 lety +1

      Ōin Taylor I would set them at 0. I am only an amateur though, so I would ask a professional. Professional stereo guys like to talk and help amateurs-especially when they are buying their equipment from them. Lol

    Thanks for the video. I am asking this here as I cannot find the answer to my question elsewhere - and I searched literally everywhere!
    I am planning to remove the kick panel in the passenger footwell in order to connect an accessory to the radio control module (the amp in your video). I need this accessory to remain on for as long as the radio is on after I shut down the engine. I am trying to find a retained accessory power source, which is a wire that retains power after engine shutdown for about 10 mins or until a door is opened.
    Can you point me towards a wire, preferably in the passenger footwell that provides retained accessory power? Ideally I would like to tap on one of the wires on the gray or brown harnesses that go onto the radio control module, as I believe that one of them should definitely be a retained accessory power source. Any idea which wire I can use?
    Thank you in advance. I really appreciate any input and help provided.

      I'm not familiar with that car specifically but every gm that I've owned lists RAP fuses in the fuse panel diagrams. Not sure if it helps your specific location plan but you could use a fuse circuit tap from your fuse panel if you wanted to.

      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  Před 6 lety

      What’s the difference between the DSR-1 and the AX-DSP? The only thing that concerns me with doing the AmpPro with the DSR-1 is that it requires a bit more hacking of the wiring and the loss of stereo sound for the satellite. Thoughts?

If I set it front low input and hi input on rear than all 4 speakers have sound but the rear have about 60% less volume sound. So cut the inputs and use it as hi input. No sound only bass. The bass is the only thing I don’t have problems with. So I call the company and explain my situation and could not get an answer. Thanks.
