- A unique conversation about the reality and notion of time, death and life. The full interview is on the the website of the Barry Long Foundation www.barrylong.... of Barry speaking with the theoretical physicist David Bohm in 1983. It's a 2 hr 18 min recording we discovered in the archives, made in the early days of The Barry Long Centre in London. We've improved the audio quality and added video to accompany this historic conversation.

Barry Long is so far ahead. Mr.Bohm is trying to hold his notions of time together.

Can you specify a timestamp where this occcurs for the first time ? He is exploring the notion of time, not trying to hold his notions together, at least so far as I am into the conversation.
I only noticed he was _very patiently and intelligently_ trying to understand what BL is saying which is rather adventureous given BL's garbled terminology _(such as his double use of the word "presence")_ .
@@TheSoteriologisthe can't provide you with a timestamp of that because it doesn't happen. I've listened to half if it so far and what I see is BL is some fairy ground place and with Bohm trying to get to a point of understanding BL and his use of language..
BL to me seems to come from a point of arrogance.
A interesting question arose when Bohm asks if you are coming from the whole why are there parts.. I think BL fudges through this. I think Bohm is way too polite to tip Barry Long a new one 😂😂😂
@@channiedhillon exactly he is not only arrogant, but a little confrontational and yet he says nothing of substance and sounds like he really doesn't know what he is talking about. I find my self wishing he would shut up and let David speak!

The recording which interested David Bohm and brought them both together - isn't it actually called *'The Unacceptable, Unbelievable Truth'* and not only 'The Unbelievable Truth' as you write in the information given at the beginning of the video? At least this is the title of the first side of 'A Journey in Consciousness' and I'm quite sure that this has to be the recording David Bohm had listened to. Barry even corrects David Bohm when he says it wrong...?
To listeners of this, I highly recommend the complete version _(see one comment by me to that at the timestamp below)_ but at the end of those 138 minutes it says there was a follow up conversation two weeks after coming up as "part 2". *Can you help me find it please ?*
48:30 This by BL in this conversation repeatedly professed love of science is in strange tension with his usual and sometimes quite dilettantic diatribes elsewhere in his talks against both science and scientists.
You might be interested in reading 'The Origins of Man and the Universe'. There he goes into this subject - the error and the future of science - in detail.
I think, it's this very book Barry mentions in the talk with David Bohm (something like "I have to give you my new book to read it") and I suspect, David Bohm asked for a second meeting after having read it.
The second meeting hasn't been published yet, but as the thumbnail for the first says "Part 1" I'm quite optimistic that it will be published, too.
@@Barbara_Schulte I've read that book three times, if I remember right, years ago, and once was more or less "backward". That chapter you mention, however, doesn't solve the inconsistency to this dialogue with Bohm _(yeah, I hope they'll upload the second part of it and and let us know on this channel when it happens)_ nor is it concerned with his rather incompetent dismissal of science during his talks.

It simply has to do with different perspectives, different requests, communication levels, roles.
The "discrepancy" one might think to observe at first glance is well addressed in the Origins book under the given keywords:
the error of science vs. the future of science
= objectivity vs. subjectivity
In BL terms there is:
* the Master within/without - I, pure subjectivity
* the scientific mind in all of us - search for / believe in objectivity
* science - the nearest the human mind can come close to the truth ... without ever reaching it; true, but not the truth
-> this talk with David Bohm:
a conversation between two different kinds of authority; acknowledging the sincerity and the achievements of science, while at the same time helping to bring about "the future of science", the quantum leap into subjectivity
-> spiritual talks / teachings:
only concerned with the truth, not with what is being true; therefore only one true authority - the Master within/without; therefore not a discussion, but rather a communion on an energetic level; for this purpose constantly attacking the error of the scientific mind / destroying the false belief in objectivity and directly addressing the master within - pure, responsible, subjectivity (not an impure, irresponsible, emotional one), the place of true knowledge behind all the accumulated knowing of the world;
The mind will never understand or be the truth, and if it is told so by guru, the real master - I - it gets outraged and even furious sometimes.
I didn't realise the two had met.

if you read Zen Master Dogen's Uji - Time Being, you will see his concept of time is very similar to David's. But Barry Long seems highly confused! Barry Long just comes of as a phony to me!
Why did David Bohm even bother to waste his time with this nonsense😂😂😂
I wonder what Bohm said about why he chose to meet with him.
