ridiculous that Universal has decided to "update" the look of the classic monsters for Epic Universe

The current NECA figure line is so much better than the bendy ones shown here. You even get Black and White variants and diorama accessories. Also Ravensburger HORRIFIED is a licenced boardgame with all the classic monsters (unless I missed that in this video?) and Universal Monsters branding logo. nice vid.
No they don’t have that board game at universal. If it’s licensed that’s probably why. I’ve noticed universal likes to mostly carry their own “universal monster” licensing
@@Halloween365Daysyes, it is their own Univesal Monsters branding. Same logo. I meant licenced out to Ravensburger. All the items in the shop are licenced to toy and clothing companies.

A possible unrelated question to the general audience. There was a toy in the early 1980 s that was a can crusher like device and had various stickers of monster faces. You could stick around the can and then crunch it up.

They announced Dark Universe was announced months ago. The new theme park should be opening sometime in 2025!

Awesome store! They have all this merch in the store that the Bourne Legacy exits in Orlando, but it’s not themed like this. Also a smaller, less product at one in Island of Adventures in the lost continent.

I was so curious about that Dracula cape! Is it like a zip up poncho made of sweatshirt material? If so, that would be super unique and I’d wanna go get one. But if it’s like a costume silk cape material, then no.

I’m a little bummed that the Frankenstein bomber jacket isn’t on the universal online store. There’s actually a lot of stuff in this tribute store that isn’t on the online store. They have some stuff but unfortunately not everything.

@@FilmAgeStudios I don't agree with that but I love them both equally. The Phantom is also part of Chaney Entertainment with the Wolfman and they also sued Universal like The Lugosi family and Karloff family respectively, years ago over rights to likeness. That's why Dracula, and The Wolfman never look right. The families control the likeness.

Also any Dracula merchandise that doesn't have the rights acquired for Bela Lugosi is just cheap looking in my opinion
I’m sure F&F will have a dedicated store once the ride opens. Like when u exit the ride I think they’ll have an exit store to it. But I agree.. universal should pay for the rights and get some merch! It will sell!

It opened 2-3 weeks ago. Some of the merch is also inside the theme park but not in a dedicated store like this one

I appreciate the video, but this is the worst tribute store I’ve seen at Universal! I think back to the Jurassic Park tribute store with the multiple rooms and special effects and props! When I look at this, it’s a joke!
Yeah I get it! I can appreciate them doing atleast something for us temporarily but definitely agree with you! Maybe for Dark Universe in Orlando they will have something bigger.
The Mummy gift shop was really great too.
So...im sure the poster isnt a fan, as she never mentions the elephant in the room...namely that ALL of the Dravula stuff doesn't have Lugosis' likeness, but a strange generic fanged vampire.

It’s not the elephant in the room lol if you’re familiar with universal merch it’s always been the case with just a generic Dracula. I’m sure it has to do with the family not allowing others to use Lugosi’s likeness. The only time I’ve seen official Lugosi merch is at horror conventions when they have his granddaughter Lynne selling his stuff at those conventions.
Universal does not own Lugosi's likeness. They would have to pay Lugosi Estate to use his image. They do own the makeup of the Frankenstein Monster., The Mummy and The Creature From The Black lagoon. The Wolfman is owned by the Chaney Estate.
Yeah I don't understand how actual Universal Studios can acquire the rights for the likeness of Bela Lugosi LOL... when its the generic Dracula like that it just screams "we're too cheap to reach out to the Lugosi estate"

How weird that Universal bendy Phantom of the Opera figure had an Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom likeness instead of Lon Chaney the Universal Phantom.

...and NONE of the Dracula stuff has Lugosis' likeness...the family is very tight with the reins as far as merchandise goes. If he was MY relative I'd let them make any damned thing they wanted for the fans...show me the $ $
It's the 1943 Claude Rains Phantom. The Chaney Phantom is owned by the Chaney Estate.
Lots of Dracula stuff but no Bela likeness. Cheap ass UNI wont even pay Bela's kid the $ for the likeness. Not a lot of toys or models to do with ANY of the monsters that saved the studio in 20's and 30's.
And being so close to pedo donuts means I would NEVER go there.
