As an owner of Find X3 pro,yeah,the selfie camera is not the greatest, but it does the job. The main camera is super good and I love it.

Hi Fer! This is because macro and micro are not the same thing. While the Oppo does have a native 30x microscope camera, it is only 3 megapixels and is more of a gimmick than something that will have regular use. Macro photography is actually a thing for many professionals and even casual users, usually for taking shots of nature. That is why we compare macro modes on each phone directly, since it's quite popular these days. Thank you for your comment!

Macro photos existed on Android devices for years, iPhone's always late bringing "innovation" but they do implemented it pretty nicely

The far superior magnification of the Oppo with the "microscope" camera does indeed make very different type of photos compared to many other smartphones. But just because it's not really comparable to virtually any other camera on a smartphone doesn't make it a gimmick.
The iPhone can't magnify as much as the Oppo, and in macro photography magnification scale is one of the most important points. Focusing distance is also a very important point.
The iPhone can't win in those departments because it's missing the hardware features that allow for such macro photography.
You missed an exclusive feature on oppo and didn't use the microscopic macro mode , if you did it would definitely won the macro section

Got my Oppo Find x3 pro at just 430 euros a good price at the moment, the phone is a bit old but even now it can compete with a lot of models on the actual market. The X5 Pro on the other hand yes is the newer one but the price is still too high at moment to buy it, europe version brand new is about 1300 euros.
to be honest more points to oppo to put up a good fight since the x3 pro is from last year and its rival(kinda) was the 12 pro, and this is the 13 pro which competes with the x5 pro and the s22 ultra and so on, and for my preferences in this video a liked much more the oppo in camera, asides from the front camera in my opinion its better

I have the Oppo Find X3 Pro and I think this review not too bias, the point and shot using this phone maybe not produce photo as pleasant as iphone nor pixel, because at the default state the Oppo using automatic selection using HDR on or off, this is not bad and I think really good but maybe Oppo can improve the scene detection more accurately. I also hope that the HDR strength on this phone could be improved.

Yes it does! The issue was that the quality really made a difference for Oppo at 720p, so we decided not to include it. We'll leave a note next time!

We feel that macro has turned into a mode that many phones have and work on, and a microscope camera isn't all that useful for everyday usage. That's why the macro culture of taking pictures of leaves, flowers, and bugs was the main focus here, rather than a fun microscope camera. Thanks for your comment Khalid!

Traditional nature macro photography can't be done with the micro camera, it is not the same thing. Also, we always do stabilization on ultra wide.

We actually didn't Pranoy! The thing is, macro and micro aren't quite the same. Macro photography is quite popular and is beginning to be widespread, but a microscope camera is more of a gimmick and one of a kind - so it's also uncomparable to other phones and their cameras. Maybe in the future if it becomes common, we can compare microscope cameras as well, but currently it is not something that users commonly look for, unlike a dedicated macro lens.

Macro photography is actually a thing for many professionals and even casual users, usually for taking shots of nature. It's not about how close a camera can get. Otherwise, phones with 100x would always win the zoom competitions no matter how bad their cameras are. Since macro has seen widespread usage (which is why Apple has finally included it in their 13 Pro series) and is what people are looking for when they want to take pictures for their social media, that is what was taken into account - rather than a fun microscope camera that is pretty basic when compared to cheap microscopes on the market.
