Everyone has a reason to fight, to conquer and to keep going forward no matter what. That reason usually comes from suffering.. that motivates people to not suffer anymore, but they don't realize that the suffering is their motivation. And if they get rid completely of they're suffering they will not keep going, those people who never have suffering in their life usually dont have a reason to live, and if they did.. it will be for other but not themselves. And to those people who started wars between people just for their reasons they don't realize that they're making people suffer and thus making people who will do the same for themselves. Life is suffering, even happiness comes from there. So there's no bad in suffering, because if you can keep moving forward even when suffering.. you will live and enjoy those little things you didn't enjoy before, you will start to live.

That's really insightful. I think the mindset of revenge comes from the fact that it doesn't seem justified that people get to do horrible things and not face consequences. They will continue being the person they are, they will not learn the pain they are inflicting on others. They could die peacefully with a self-satisfied mind. And the only way they will face those consequences is if you go out of your way to bring them.
However, I do understand that at the end of the day, whether those people face consequences shouldn't affect you or your life. Whether they die happy or not doesn't affect anything. What you do for revenge won't change anything but your own emotions. Your own dignity and values shouldn't be compromised for emotional retribution.
I think it's just a matter of if you value what you stand for vs. if you value your emotions.
