- AEM’s DashDesign Software v2.2 is available for download! New features include the ability to transmit live channel values over user-defined CAN messages from the dash, reduce the number of screens to display on the dash to minimize toggling through screens when you want to use less than the normal 4 pages, support for the 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3, and automatically check for updates in DashDesign and seamlessly update to the latest version if a newer one is available.
Additional work was performed to improve the Simulator tab functionality, we improved editing capabilities when creating gauges and graphs for custom screens, and we added configurable reset button min/max/avg channel filters and tied them to the Setup Check feature to alert users if a reset button is not active. Click on the release notes link below for a full list of updates and details for the improvements.

AWESOME WORK!!! I am super excited about this update. Lots of cool things!! Downloading now.
Good stuff guys! Thanks for the update on the update. lol
Nice changes. Made a great product even better.
Awesome job guys! One request I'd like to submit is to be able to mix and match OBDII and CAN data. The current implementation is easy and intuitive, and will satisfy most users but on cars where both CAN and OBDII data is available, with limited crossover, it would be great to have advanced functionality to allow filtering a CAN OBDII message by PID.
Great feedback, thank you!
Good job! I'll be sure to try out the new software and poke and prod at it.
Cheers!
Excellent updates. I would love to see more EV based design screens. Cheers.
Much needed, thanks for sorting! A guide on how to send gps speed to an infinity ecu to calculate gear which can then be sent back to the CD7 would be super useful 😎
Thank you! We will add this to our list, great idea.
@@AEMpowerTVelectronics awesome, look forward to it! 🚗💨
Great updates! For what it's worth the following additions/updates would be great.
Circular Tachometer/Gauge: Combining the functionally of the Horizontal Tachometer and the Floating Needle to create round gauges with adjustable start and stop points. fillable bars, removable separators between bars, adjustable colors for lower/upper limits, and flashing. Would be great to have on smaller displays as it would be visually easier to see vs the standard needle.
Transparent Images: Allow transparent png or gif images. Currently the transparency doesn’t work and blocks elements below that graphic. Granted this could be something changed you cold really do some trick elements using custom made graphics in conjunction with standard dash design objects.
i would like to see a genesis coupe running cd7 that'll be awesome to watch
Have the logging conditions been expanded to have more options, such as being able to input a channel value to trigger logging instead of just above zero?
With this new update and the capability to transmit is it possible to take info that the dash receives through Port 1 from an AEM Vehicle Dynamics Module and transmit it to a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU for data logging? We want to be able to data log the stuff from the VDM and can't figure out how to do that with a Haltech Elite... Here's our setup. Haltech Elite 1500 ECU, Haltech WB1 wideband controller, AEM CD5 dash display, AEM VDM, AEM 6 channel CAN sensor. All the AEM stuff is on Port 1 @ 500kb/s and the Haltech stuff is on Port 2 at 1mb/s. This was the only way I could get the dash display to show both the readings from the ECU and the readings from the AEM stuff. Is it possible to enter the CAN setup tab and under "CAN Transmit" add the VDM channels with the correct Rates, ID's, Scalars, etc to be sent to the ECU for data logging purposes? If so would I add them to Port 1 or Port 2? Really need to figure out a way to data log the AEM VDM readings with our setup... I would just hook up a AEM AQ-1 data logger and log the VDM stuff separately, but I can't track one down... They're discontinued and I've had zero luck trying to find one used... PLEASE HELP AEMpowerTV!!!!!!
Might be a silly question, but would this allow dual/triple displays to be used, with different criteria for each?
I was thinking a less driver/race focused application - such as a road car with main and auxiliary displays, or a rally/RAID car, where the co-driver/naviagator could also be monitoring the vehicle's operating parameters and so take some load off the driver who may be more focussed on the rerrain/route and have the display out of their immediate view.
We have a couple customers using multiple CD-7s on the same vehicle & canbus network. Check out @trophyburro on Instagram he has done a good job documenting his build with two AEM displays.
Can you condition a signal to only display X amount of times per second like the Holley Dash? IE stabilizing a fuel level signal or any other from bouncing around
Yes, this can be done with a filter on individual channels, for fuel level I’ve used a rolling average filter with good results.
@@AEMpowerTVelectronics thank you. I didn’t initially run a fuel gauge with my Dominator ECU and CD7 2 years ago but now I’ll try!
