Well, she's playing Beauty and the beast, and that song was sung by mrs Potts, so I guess that's why. But the gown would be better, that's right
I personally love that she did Mrs.Potts. I've seen so many tale as old as time videos where the singer or musician played Belle for that song. I mean it's pretty and all, but Mrs.Potts was telling a story with her song as an old lady who knew about love. It was a precious story that she told in a nostalgic and tender way. So to see Lindsey surprise us by being Mrs.Potts instead of Belle, I found really awesome. I actually got chills and my eyes watered lol just because at that part in the song, she was telling the story of Beauty and The Beast through the character who originally told it.

I think one of the best things that happened to Lindsey was not winning America's got talent. It gave her the impetus to say I'll show you, it kept her focussed and true to her own style and herself. And it means we all get to benefit from her wonderful talent and individuality. I think in a world of corporate conformity she is a breath of fresh air and I love her ❤

The members of the band are just people of Lindsey's tour family, the flautist it's her manager, the one beside him is part of the staff as well, only two of the bands (Drew and Kit aka trombone and cello) are part of her band, Drew is a drummer, while Kit is a pianist. They were just pretending to play the instruments for the sake of the video, it was meant to be hilarious just like the whole video. Don't be like 'oh but they're not playing the instruments correctly' 'they're not good' or whatever. It was literally on purpose 😊

Especially since they were with her in normal clothes, than those dresses, while she was in Belle costume, and apparently weren't the three girls obsessed with Gaston. Thanks for never losing what made you who you are today and for staying true to yourself. It's even more inspiring than your music (which is really saying something).

Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my Mom's favorites, and she compares herself as Belle all the time. The live action remake was phenomenal tho.

I think it's such a natural and perfect fit that she gravitated towards a Disney on ice/dance sort of deal. Incredibly talented, family has been watching her for years - so well earned and deserved. Bravo.

+Grubbs Grady Classical violin? If you're referring to genre, she plays classical music every now and then. If you're talking about the physical violin, her first ever violin was acoustic, and she still tends to prefer her old wooden one over electric violins. Besides, it fit the rest of the video best.
Well,i've never seen her playing Mozart,Vivaldi,Bach,Beethoven,Brahms,Haydn,Sibelius,Bartok,or stuff like that,so i can't say that she played classical or baroque music

Excaliber ... is the name Lindsey gave to her reliable acoustic violin, that she said had gotten her through so much. That would be my first guess as the the violin she is using in this video. Though i am sure she has several others now as backups.
+Jediael7 Lindsey owns several wooden acoustic violins. The one in this video has a brown chin rest and I'm pretty sure Excalibur has a black one. Also, you did slightly misspell "Excalibur".

Classical medley
apparently everyone is a musical genius that cant figure out the trumbone and other players are not holding their instruments correctly on purpose. also so judgy of how she holds her violin. you become as famous as her in a young culture for playing the violin and you can hold it what ever manner suits you while you are leaping around and dancing....not sitting in a chair. check out Máiréad Nesbitt from Ireland. shes the same way. dont be so critical. just enjoy the music and shut up.

Brittany Freddie i can see why lindsey holds her violin the way she does, i hold mine the same way, and when i try to hold it the "proper" way it really hurts and my wrist cramps.
I know they aren't holding the flute right, there's no way you can play the flute while moving your head around to the point it looks like an out of control bouncy ball
Am I wrong or is "proper" about teaching violin in a way that allows the student to achieve the desired results? I assume Lindsey Stirling is beyond the learning phase and has judged for herself how to achieve the desired results. Based on what my uneducated ears are hearing, I think the results are great.
Amos A. Anderson im not sure, but the quote on quote "proper" way is supposed to make it easier to slide to different positions, and play vibrato better, but to me its all the same, sliding is ok and vibrato is still a pointless effort for me.
