    Hey! I am Harish, Sophomore at 📍 BITS Pilani, Goa đŸ« pursuing Electrical Engineering 🔌. I like startups📈 and making YT videos. I'm desperate for Instagram followers and crave for likes. In that regard, please FOLLOW ME! đŸ’». New episodes every week 📅.
    Today I'll be talking about online courses and if Udemty, EDx and Coursera are actually worth it. We'll be talking about how you can learn skills like web development, graphic design and marketing using online courses. You can learn programming and to code using Udemy. These skills can be used to learn freelancing, earn some money, get internships and also get jobs right after college.

      Hey hi Harish, could you please suggest me regarding certified online course for digital marketing initially.
      Later I literally wanna go for many courses regarding everything about social media, photography, videography, editing, writing to learning different languages, instruments etc with the will to be a lifetime learner
      Completely agree with your point of being confused with the vast content on CZcams, hence want to go for a certified organised simplified courses for better understanding and satisfaction along with the value
      It would be Great if you could just guide me through my doubts

    I am doing a udemy course on logo design and at first, i regretted my decision to buy it because the instructors was talking as if he was a robot and reading a script. Also, the pace was really slow. But I thought that if I am paying for this, I must complete it. So I kept watching and later when the instructor actually started making logos, I started to find it interesting. I also took long breaks frequently due to which I still haven't completed the course, but the basics are done. So one tip I could give is that don't give up watching the course, maybe the interesting part is still yet to come. And also, don't take long breaks, once you break your link, you might not come back to continue it later. So keep watching till the last video!

    • @aryanv1406
      @aryanv1406 Pƙed 3 lety +34

      All the courses developed in udemy are created by independent developer's who have worked hard without guidance to learn these concepts and then again spent nights to develop these courses. And many of their courses fail to be recognized so they keep trying. I believe the small money which is just Rs. *320*(less than your average swiggy order) helps the teacher spend more of their time after or within their job time like a tuition teacher who in turn charges way way more. And also paying a fee motivates you to get more out of the course which in turn helps you to gain more knowledge which you would have ignored in CZcams tutorials. Plus Udemy needs to earn to sustain their massive team managing a software currently having more than 35 million users. So if you want to make such courses free, try learning a skill, practice it for minimum 2 years and then start teaching. You'll understand the effort.

    Hey, thanks lot for this video it seriously helped a lot. Just a question if you take up any subject via online course, how many hours of training needed to grasp or be relatively sounded in that subject so that you can confidently tell your prospective employer on skill set you have and do you agree if you do such courses you need to shamelessly promote it so that you attract right employers.. what's your view on this.
    Cheers

    I have done civil engineering and worked as an Assistant Civil Engineer for one year, now I want to switch to IT field and I prefer automation testing goes well for me. So I am learning Java from CZcams daily.
    But the thing is no IT companies hire me because I am from non IT background. So I want a certificate which says I have some skills to get placed, so Which online certification platform is good for java?
    I want a certificate as well as knowledge which gives me a job.

    Udemy courses are specific skill based . It’s not based on college curriculum . So it’s for people who want to up-skill specific skill set . In the current market n industry , more than certification, knowledge n what one can deliver is acknowledged more . You can learn in depth certain topic which are not covered in college curriculum or longer courses( since their goal is to give overall understanding of the workflow n pipeline )
    It is not an alternative for college or diploma .But a good option for brushing up skills where one needs help
