Matty is such a great vocalist.. he's so talented in writing amazing melodies and harmonies
I got plot in you vibes from it all. The vocal line leading into the breakdown is my favourite thing out of all the tracks they put out. So damn good.
Definitely feel this song was meant like they aren’t plugged into a reality, in reference if the Matrix. They had the green light Matrix codes in behind the band section of the video. Very cool concept and again strong relatable lyrics. 7 out of 7 for MMF BANGERS!!! 🤘🏻🔥
Kind of... These lyrics are about depression due to mental or physical pain, not about, "are we living in a simulation."
"It's not the same as it used to be": life changes when you're severely depressed. Food is tasteless, don't enjoy things that you used to love, social interaction becomes difficult and thus you become isolated to your dark thoughts, and you hope, "you can find the missing piece" that will fix things and let you feel some sense of joy again.
"Question what I still believe" - as it did to me, depression makes you question your faith.
"Feels like every day's the same, chemicals inside my brain make me think I'm in a simulation" - everything feels pointless, repetitive, mundane... Like you're trapped in a simulation on repeat.
"Am I alive or am I just breathing, I'm so numb..." - big difference between being alive and living life. With depression, you feel like you're just alive, but not really there. Life is just moving by while you sink into darkness. People without depression don't understand depression. Most healthy people think depression is synonymous with sadness, but my overwhelming emotion isn't the prevalence of sadness or anger... It's the complete and utter lack of any emotions: it's numbness.
"I've been lost looking for a reason to carry on (to live/not to commit suicide), but I'm losing hope" - self explanatory.
"Is this all a dream? Tell me, is it make believe?" Life feels so utterly sterile, dark, unhappy, and devoid of meaning, purpose, or love when you're depressed/suicidal... it makes you question your existence. Is this really all life has to offer?
"Is anybody else the same as me?" Again, depression leads to isolation and disconnection from others, so you lose touch with reality and wonder why everyone else is perfectly okay while you're drowning.
"Am I glitching in and out again" - to me, this very clearly describes a very dark, suicidal ideology attack. This is followed immediately about thinking about death "when the game is over." Death is all you can think about when these dark, downward spirals overtake your thoughts 😞
Then the breakdown: "When the game (of life) is over will I see the end?" What happens when I die? When this is repeated the second time in the breakdown, it's particularly powerful, as the voice goes distorted, and gives a feeling of utter hopelessness and desolation, disconnected from everything. These real emotions and experiences cannot be replicated by computers, thus the references to wondering if you're trapped in a computer surrounded by cold, lifeless computer programs trying to emulate happiness.

@@iwasadeum I completely agree and suffer with depression myself, so songs open and honest about how I feel coping with it, are some of my favourite songs and I always listen to them whenever I’m feeling down. It’s a good cathartic release of emotion.

Found out I'm terminally ill, it's all good have made peace, but this song just hits different from before. Wishing I went after what I wanted to make the most out of being on this planet. I encourage everyone to chase those dreams and not stay where it's comfortable. Keep pushing towards your goals. My goal is to be here as long as I can and reach people that need that little push that is keeping them from sharing their light. For some reason this song just makes me want to give more. Wants to push others to find their happiness. It's time spent well worth helping others and I know there are people on here that do the same. Keep going guys, keep pushing forward. You can make this life what you want it, even if it's all a dream or make believe. You control that. Best wishes and love!

This song is one of my favourites of the tracks so far and all of them are amazing. Looking forward to the album on the 3rd of June.
Also if you guys haven't already recorded it yet, you should definitely do a reaction of Sex Dope Gold by Ocean Grove (I have no doubt you aren't already going to react to them as they are fellow Aussie legends), but the other two is Dominatrix by Void Of Vision and Guillotine by Stray From The Path.
