Its always the ability removing bit that makes humility win. You'd need a noncreature something to overwrite the humility timestamp.

Hate to break it to you, but Kudo does beat Humility. Because Kudo begins to apply in Layer 4, before it loses the ability, it continues to apply. (CR 613.6)

While it is true, that Kudo has things apply in Layer 4, the type changing effect of making everything Bears, the power and toughness setting doesnt happen until later, in Layer 7. Before that can even be done, Humility removes all abilities in Layer 6, never allowing the Power Toughness from being set in Layer 7 by Kudo, assuming Humility came out second. Kudo, is basically just a Opalescence, and we all know how fun that is with Humility.

If an effect should be applied in different layers and/or sublayers, the parts of the effect each apply in their appropriate ones. If an effect starts to apply in one layer and/or sublayer, it will continue to be applied to the same set of objects in each other applicable layer and/or sublayer, **even if the ability generating the effect is removed during this process.**
