Beautiful song !!! The minute I first heard this song on the radio, I almost drove past my high school, I got so into the song. The sax, the trombone , background singers……. This song has it all !!!!😘
I saw him walk on stage turn on a reel to reel and sing with it for over an hour (70s). He was and is a genius. Watch Daryl at his house in Hawaii, it’s beautiful!
Todd is a rare talent. A great song writer, producer, recording engineer, AND plays many of the instruments on his tracks. The little girl in some of the photos is Liv Tyler, the actress. Todd's girlfriend was model Bebe Buell and is the mother of actress Liv Tyler (born 1977), whose biological father is Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler with whom she had a breif relationsip. Todd Rundgren is Liv's legally adoptive father. Liv knows who her biological father is, but Todd raised her and Liv calls him and regards him as her Dad. A reminder of the old saying that any man can be a father but it takes a special man to be a Dad.
Another great song of his is "Can't We Still Be Friends". Such a great artist. He was like the Lady Gaga of our time. Check out some of his videos. He loved the costumes.
Aside from being an incredible musician Todd was also a top flight producer. You can listen to his production skills on an album called BAT OUT OF HELL/ MEATLOAF! Todd is a certified genius!
He wrote this in high school when his first love stopped talking to him, because her parents forbid them from dating. She stopped taking his calls, and disappeared from his life. One of my all time favorite songs.
I'm 27 and was not even close to alive at this time but I can feel this song and it brings me all sorts of emotional fluctuations. Tears and smiles at the same time. Hurt and joy.
Love that line: " Sometimes I cant help seeing all the wsy through..." wow. Remember when you first fell in love with someone, you could see the marriage, kids....
One of those incredible songs that came out in the early 70's. Here is another fascinating songs of the 70's, Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft originally recorded by a Canadian Group in 1976 by Klaatu and then by the Carpenters in 1977.
Yes he has not reacted to any songs by Carly yet. Her version of You Belong to Me and her songs Your So Vain and Anticipation would all be great to see reactions.
So many great songs by Carly, she sings with power. That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be , especially the live version brings out some different emotions, a little sad and inspiring at the same time. She gets it done, strong woman for sure!

Jamel, I don't see this song as Rundgren being a "user." In fact quite the opposite. To me it's about love that's easy and gentle, not demanding or controlling.
Beautiful song !!! The minute I first heard this song on the radio, I almost drove past my high school, I got so into the song. The sax, the trombone , background singers…….
This song has it all !!!!😘
I've loved this man from the beginning. He is simply amazing. He's currently touring with Daryll Hall.
Always loved this song! I was 12 when it came out and it takes me back to a time I love. Thanks for sharing Jamel!
Ditto.
Todd Rundgren ooozes talent! Such an incredible dude.
This is ALL Todd Rundgren. He plays allllllll the instruments and harmonies. Everything.
The man is a genius, and he still writes and tours.
Check out the Isley Brothers version of this song. What Ronald Isley does with this is incredible.
Yeah, the Isley Brothers version of this song sounds completely different. Nice slow jam. Brings back house party memories.
Yeah.. Ron Isley kills it
A much as I truely love the Isleys, I am a purist. Give me Todd's version. The Isleys did the song with respect, as they do will all of their remakes.
I love both versions
But this version reminds me of Daddy
“It Wouldn’t Have Made Any Difference” is a beautiful song!
Totally agree
That's my favorite of his.
My fav
Love the many key changes in this song...gives me chills. Has always been a fave.
Todd's set at Daryl's house is amazing!
You have to do "I Saw the Light", I freaking love that song by Todd
DUDE THAT 70s SHOW! WHAT A GREAT LIFE I'VE LIVED... LITERALLY THE ONLY SONG THAT STUCK WITH ME FROM THE SHOW, WOW!
This song lives on and is so iconic, I remember when it came out
It touches your heart 💕
“Can We Still Be Friends” is another great song by Todd Rundgren. I hope you get to react to it one day!
Love that line: " Sometimes I cant help seeing all the wsy through..." wow. Remember when you first fell in love with someone, you could see the marriage, kids....
He wrote and did his own version of "Love Is the Answer "
Great song.
"It's important to me that you know you are free" .... Instant chills every time. Such a wonderful song... Love your reaction ♥
produced a ton of stuff including meat loaf bat out of hell... raised liv tyler as his own daughter..
They call him "the wizard" for good reason. Check out some of his more rocking stuff with his band Utopia. Got to see them in 77. Great show!
A Wizard, A True Star 💫
The wizard, really? For what?Surely not for the music. It's terrible!
@@karingraf536 if you think Todd sucks I'd hate to hear the kind of garbage you listen to. LMAO
This is one of my favorite song writers
One of those incredible songs that came out in the early 70's. Here is another fascinating songs of the 70's, Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft originally recorded by a Canadian Group in 1976 by Klaatu and then by the Carpenters in 1977.
I'm on board with "Bang the Drum ".
Love Todd.. This is my tear jerker song. Thanks!
Carly Simon - That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be reaction plz
Yes he has not reacted to any songs by Carly yet. Her version of You Belong to Me and her songs Your So Vain and Anticipation would all be great to see reactions.
So many great songs by Carly, she sings with power. That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be , especially the live version brings out some different emotions, a little sad and inspiring at the same time. She gets it done, strong woman for sure!
Jazzman!!
@@axucaroso That's Carole King and it's a great song!
I grew up less than 5 miles from Todd. So his music is in my DNA. BTW, he produced Meatloaf's "Bat out of Hell" album and a few Grand Funk albums.
This was the FIRST song that Todd ever wrote!
The man's a genius.
You need to see the episode of Live at Daryl’s House with Todd-two Philly greats together!!!
Blue eyed soul from Philadelphia, just like Hall and Oates, Check out todd at Daryl's house, especially "Sweet"
This man is pure talent and made some beautiful music. Truly lucky I grew up in the days of music like this.
