With the honourable mentions you would have it pretty much covered except the Carlton Richmond of the 80's and even Melbourne Collingwood of the 30's etc but overall they are all there. I would have Ess Carl in top 5 but not sure who I would have in. There are certainly some short rivalries like the GWS Bulldogs and Syd WCE and even the scarf twirling marshmellow matches between Roos and Ess but it is hard to draw a line. If you go for enduring rivalries you have them.
Showdown is the best footy rivalry and it's not close.

@@trominator I'm a lions supporter and I have no connection with either Adelaide teams but it's still the best rivalry. There is no such thing as a dull showdown, way more entertaining than a rivalry forged by grand finals from 50 years ago.

@@afldomain Yeah. 1 Carlton v Coll, 2 Carl v Richmond, 3 Carlton v Essendon, 4 Essendon v Coll and fifth is harder but maybe Ess v Hawks or Crows v Tealers or Cats v Hawks. Not sure Cats v Hawks will remain as much as a rivalry it was in recent decades when both contenders similar time. Coll v Rich could be fifth too. First four seem clear cut over many more decades.
How is the showdown on there. The Western derby is so much more better and both teams truly hate each other and almost want to kill each other

The crows port rivalry is the biggest in the AFL by a fair margin but west coast and Fremantle is definitely top 5. Carlton Collingwood has been irrelevant since the 90s at least
