    I sincerely hope your eczema gets better. My eczema is really severe...I just sat there crying today

      Thanks. There’s a lot of new treatments for eczema that’s very effective and safer than before, so stay hopeful. I was born with one of the most severe cases of Eczema research doctors had ever seen. I got worse for 27 years until I found the right doctors and new treatments finally became available. Here’s everything I’m using right now: czcams.com/video/txNbJdROVuk/video.html

    This is such a helpful outlook for when life starts to feels shitty again. My eczema came back after stopping an oral steroid and I’ve been freaking out because I haven’t had to deal with eczema at all for the 8 months that I was on it. The eczema definitely came back a lot worse & in places I’ve never even had eczema. Not sure if it’s a steroid withdrawal since the eczema is coming back gradually, but painfully and I can see it slowly spreading to all the normal parts of my body. I was advised to apply topicals but I’m scared of getting a topical steroid withdrawal. Your video inspires me a lot. Keep looking forward Jeffrey!! :)

      @JeffreyLin  Před 4 lety +3

      Sorry to hear you are getting worse. I think there’s too much emphasis on steroid withdrawal. Any use of steroids will make the skin thinner and weaker, which makes eczema worse. It doesn’t just happen with withdrawal. You might have to use some steroids, but use the minimum amount. Add other techniques such as my eczema bath video ( czcams.com/video/bh0CDjswAG0/video.html ), non-steroid ointments like Protopic, allergy medications and mast-cell stabilizers like cromolyn ( czcams.com/video/fRXms7ABzAw/video.html ). Here’s all the medications I’m using: czcams.com/video/txNbJdROVuk/video.html

      please please please stay away from those steroids. i've been doing them for many years.every cycle you take them its will make it twise as worse. those doctors who still recommending it bunch of ass, sorry for the lang, but talk from experience, something the all lack. do a allergy test(blood) and fix your diet and sleep in addition to your non steroid treatment

      @@JeffreyLin Does cromolyn cause any side effects? I was prescribed cromolyn sodium inhalation solution UPS 20mg/2ml, 1ml twice a day. But ever since I am going through TSW and my eczema has gotten so many times worse in places I never had it and everywhere else, I am paranoid about taking medications I do not understand. My ignorance and lack of discipline with steroids made my health problems so much worse, now I am afraid of making the same mistake again with another medication.

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Joseph, cromolyn is a very safe medication. Less side effects than many over-the-counter cough medicines. However, some people experience nausea when first starting Cromolyn. I think it’s a very safe medication to use. It does not cause damage like steroids.

      @josephbibbo9181 Před 3 lety

      @@JeffreyLin Hi Jeffrey! I overcame my phobia or hesitance to try the cromolyn. I am seeing positive changes. I am not 100% sure if it's the cromolyn or my diet, or both. I started using Elecare to supplement my diet and to give my digestive system a rest for some days. I credit that to some positive changes because I have very inflamed intestines and I am having digestive problems. I can't consume any fats and I was in constant acid reflux. Since using the Elecare, I have noticed that I feel more fed? Less inflammation in my bowels. I feel I must be absorbing more nutrients in my small intestine if that makes any sense. I can't describe it well but it has favored me. I learned about Elecare from you. Fortunately, I am not allergic to everything, but I am allergic to a lot of things. My biggest challenge in life has been feeding my self without triggering inflamation and flares. It seems like I am getting there now. At least for today, things seem to be going in a good direction. I've only been using the cromolyn for 3 days so I am not sure it is the cromolyn that is helping.

    Thanks for the video Jeremy! Makes me feel better knowing that I’m not the only one going through this. Going from perfect skin to dealing with this thing. You would think researchers would find a cure for all of us out here.

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  Před 4 lety +2

      Might be harder for you if you had good skin before and then developed eczema. I was born with top 5 most severe eczema and I have nothing better to compare to. Eczema is not a single disease. There are many versions and depends on other parts of your immune and health. so it is complicated for researchers to fix.

    This works for me: Use a powerful HEPA air purifier in a very small room. Mine can filter all the air in a 1'560 sq. foot room 2x per hour. So, I put my computer and a sleeping mat in the smallest room in my home, and I have four stories that I live in, 4,400 square feet, but I get sick so I only really stay in a tiny 11'x11' room. Based on 2x for 1,560 feet, the air in my tiny room is changed 32x an hour. I wash the pre-filter frequently and change the HEPA filters in advance of when needed. This helps tremendously.
    I did get my first 2 dupixent injections 5 days ago and I already felt a difference. I am hoping that things will get better and better and that I will have no side effects. If possible, stay with friends or family until things are better where you are. good luck.

      Thanks for the update. I’m also still on some cyclosporine, but don’t need as much cyclosporine after adding Dupixent. Keep me posted on how you do on cyclosporine. It helped my skin a lot but makes me fatigued and a bit depressed:

    Hi, wanted to reach out but didnt know how too. I am 31 and have battled allergic asthma since i was 2 weeks old. I have been on dupixent for nasal polyps for about 5 months. Was wondering are you still on dupixent and if it has helped your asthma any or have you stopped it. I have really appreciated your videos. Hope all is well.

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  Před 3 lety

      Hey, sorry for the late reply. Yes, I'm still on Dupixent and continue to improve (but the asthma improvements are slower than my eczema improvements). It took over 2-years for me to really see improvements in my asthma from Dupixent. I give myself injections every 6-7 weeks now. I was able to withstand the California fire season this year without any problems, so using that as a test, I'm better than I was a year ago.

    Hi sorry about your eczema. My 8yr old son has severe eczema and we live in Kenyan coast where it's always hot. To an extent i have to home shcl my son since hot weather makes his eczema worse. Any tips for us, we spend most of our time indoors with A.C on. Plz help

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Mariam, sorry to hear about your son. I was born with severe eczema so I understand being a child with this horrible illness. Eczema makes the skin burn so it feels worse where it is hot. If you can’t get Dupixent, immunosuppresant medications worked great for me for many years. Ask his doctors about: cyclosporine, cellcept, methotrexate, or imuran. These are dangerous medications so I suggest taking the lowest dose possible. As a child, I always focused on studying and learning to distract myself from itching. He can also try my eczema bath video: czcams.com/video/bh0CDjswAG0/video.html

      But today our dermatologists changed my son medicine to methotrexate and folate. Am hoping and praying that this one works better.
      Wish us luck. Mariam

    Just wondering I’m on dupixent and I’ve been on it for about a year now and Idk if I had side effects I’ve never told them that I had any but can you usually tell if you have a side effect? Also can I inject on the same two spots but I alternate just wondering is it ok for me to be doing that like one week I’ll do it on my stomach and the next time I do it on my thigh and then my stomach the week after etc.( I inject on the right side of my stomach and right thigh every time)

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  Před 4 lety

      Hey Emily, great time meet another Dupixent user! Side effects are usually pretty obvious stuff you can feel. For me, the eye irritation is very obvious and I’ll feel fatigued for about a week sometime after each injection. There may be internal issues which you’ll need blood tests to check. You should talk to your doctor about blood tests to monitor Dupixent use.
      And yes, switching injection sites are fine. I alternate between left thigh for one injection, and right thigh the next injection.

      @@JeffreyLin Muchísimas muchísimas gracias por responderme y dices que te mejoró el 98% y eso es mucho osea casi te cura pero no ves que te haya quitado la enfermedad?... lo has dejado de utilizar unos meses para ver si te curó realmente? Y crees que este remedio sea la cura a largo plazo o es algo temporal simplemente? Este es el único remedio que a tenido efecto contra esto por tu parte? Pregunto ya que este remedio en Latinoamérica está muy caro o está en algunos países nada más.. no está al alcance de todos y gracias por responder :)
