Public transit con. Compared to where? It can't be as good as Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. But how about compared to Calgary? I am a senior on a very low pension and am considering moving from Calgary to Edmonton due to lower rents. But not if the bus system is even worse than here.

Student who went to Edmonton after growing up in Calgary:
If you're near the capitol line or downtown, transit in Edmonton is light-years ahead of Calgary. This may be an incredibly unfair comparison since I went from growing up in Calgary's suburbs to now Edmonton's UAlberta, but in Calgary, public transit was utterly hopeless (~45 minutes between buses; transfers involve waits of greater than 30 minutes; I needed more than an hour to get from downtown to anywhere I cared to go to based off what google maps was telling me); whilst in Edmonton, for all locations that can be connected to the capitol line LRT, it'd take me no more than 50 minutes - and my commute is usually closer to 20-30 minutes including walking. This is very location dependent though; so, your milage may vary. (Outside of the very well developed part, Edmonton rapidly approaches even more hopeless than Calgary, I hear)

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on some things, for one, not everyone is a vegan or vegetarian (if you are, great!), don't know what area of town you call home, but Edmonton has tons of restaurants. Yeah there are many places around our great city that have seen better days in the past that look like a dump truck drove right through them or are completely abandoned and boarded up.

I never been to Edmonton but looking at it it looks just like almost any other city in the United States. it kind of reminds me of Denver Colorado.
In most cities in the United States are just as boring also with way more crime.
