Never understood why they don't just lock up the cranks so your feet are in a normal MTB position. Sick video looks fun.
Man that looks awesome. I feel like a dh bike with 45" of travel would be the best for it I wonder who even has such a monster of a bike?
Dude this looks like so much fun, as someone who has spent all of easter at home injured from crashing on a rocky trail, this looks less dangerous which at the end of the day would result in more stoke because your not going home in pain. Hopefully the ski bike business makes a come back

Just an idea, wouldnt be better to male a mods to actual mountain bikes to ride them in snow better? Some skies with extensions to match height and wheelbase of standard bike, attached to frame and fork...
I think they would be too long and hard to turn if you did that

I tried them once at Mt-Habitant it's a miniscule ski station near where I grew up, anyway conditions are never powdery more like groomed sandpaper 😂🤘

No brakes is the biggest problem with these things haha. Sketchy
skis and snowboards also don't have brakes lol you gotta hold an edge and dig into the snow
@@TheDonkDonk420 Ye ofc, but these probably don't maneuver so well. Especially on high speed and you can't brake in a V or sit down

Skibiking IS a future by many means (at least I hope it is) :) New resorts allowing riding them, new brands making them... I tried Snowscooting last winter and I loved it... Best thing in deep powder - and as opose to skibike - snowscoot has lower footrest platform and thus it´s more stable i think... Also I am making a skibike for my bachelor project on my technical university. I hope, I enjoy riding my creation :D Would also be awesome to try a "ski adaptor kit" on a mountain bike. That looked awesome, it seems like ski bikes are best suited to powder runs, they did seem a bit hard to control speed when you were on the fast, icy groomers in the terrain park. I'm not sure if ski biking will take off or quickly be banned, there was a major incident at Keystone here in Colorado this winter where a ski biker was involved in a hit & run where a skier was fairly seriously injured after being hit by the ski biker (though to be fair hit & runs involving skiers are a common problem in Colorado since if you stick around you WILL be sued).

how does the suspension deal with the cold?
I wonder if having a front and rear flywheel would help on these.
I think this ski-bike would handle better if your feet are apart, say half a pedal apart.

I got to give a try a couple of weeks ago, and it was ok! It's much better if you bike downhill a lot or don't already know how to ski/snowboard... As someone who isn't very MTB savy myself, I fell... a lot. Stopping and slowing down is not very natural IMO. I think it's a great sport to pick up, just not for me.

I made my own ski bike this year and got out on it about 12 days. I got pretty good on it, and cannot wait to get a better one!
