South Mumbai, colloquially SoBo from South Bombay in Anglo-Indian English, administratively the Mumbai City District, is the city centre and the southernmost precinct of Greater Bombay. Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's $1.5 billion home Antilia is located here and is now a part of the iconic skyline. Most residents of South Mumbai belong to old money business, law, trade and fashion families. Geographically, South Mumbai lies at the southern most extent of Salsette Island. Most city residents use the term to refer to the stretch extending from Colaba to Mahim and Sion as South Mumbai. The area is delimited on the east by Mumbai harbour and on the west by the Arabian Sea.

See how relatively peaceful it is compared to other parts of Mumbai and any other cities in India. It's the absence of two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Two-wheelers are very few in South Mumbai and three-wheelers are not allowed south of Bandra and Sion. So no unnecessary honking or overtaking from the left or indiscriminate lane-cutting compared to other parts of the city.

it’s really beautiful and as an american i’d love to visit some day, but the driving is TERRIFYING. i don’t understand, are there no rules to the road? or does nobody follow them? i have so much anxiety watching this video i can’t imagine being in the car!!! really beautiful area though, im very sad my fear might hold me back from ever visiting 😢
There are rules but they are chaotic which only an experienced driver can understand. Take uber or subway and you will be fine. India can be very intimidating place, but at the same time it will be one of the most interesting places you will ever travel to.
This is terrifying? Not at all. There aren't even many cars on the road. You should see what the congested streets of Mumbai are like. What do you mean no rules? They aren't breaking red lights and for the most part they are following lane discipline.

I have been to Shanghai on short 3 day trip, failed to a single beggar in their financial capital, let alone finding them openly defecating like in Mumbai.
