  • Hey guys!
    In this video we'll show how to design and simulate a voltage charge controller for a battery. i.e. The battery stop charging once it reaches a certain voltage value that corresponds to a particular SOC.
    The base model for simulation can be found in the link below.

    Hello sir, thx for the video it’s very educational! Where can I part 3? And how should I amend the circuit if I want to regulate the voltage supplied to the load, e.g. i want to charge a 3.7 lipo battery and a load which need constant 1.4v supply. Cause in this case when the input voltage is 5v and in charging mode, the battery is charging but the load is also at 5v, whereas in discharging mode, the load voltage depends on the battery voltage

    Hey, I found your video interesting to simulate, but I want to know the reasons of using inductances in parallel as well as in series as shown in circuit.
    plus, can you tell me the reason behind using the values for the PID controller, please

    Hey, Thank You very much. You earned a subscriber. The insights were wonderful.
    I had a question though, why were the capacitors for the buck converter circuit omitted? And yes, do upload a CCCV version of the battery charging (both part1 and part2 merged with some control logic).

      you should be able to add it, I don't think there should be a problem. Its usually added for voltage stabilisation, of the converter.
      You're right capacitor could be added.

      @@TheUrbanScholar HELLO
      Check the control block there is A reference current you did not mention to it in the previous video and when you start this part 2 I saw this block so here that I am asking about it and another question could I remove the ideal switch and make just one control block to make the battery charge and discharge.

    • @TheUrbanScholar
      @TheUrbanScholar  Před 3 lety

      @Se Salah Greetings, Sorry for the confusion. The reference block in the beginning of the video is just a from to block. We drag it out and make it a go to block which holds the value of "Reference Current" i.e. the output of the PI controller. The PI controller looks to change the refrence current value to ensure that the SOC doesnt charge above 85% SOC. I.e The current will reduce to 0 as the SOC reaches 85%. Hence the reference value for this case is a changing parameter
