    My water bills on average is $18 per month. Some month hit $12 - $15. My family consist of my husband and myself. We have been staying in a HDB for 3 years. my in laws had taught me in collecting the softener water from the washing machine and used it to flash the toilet after urination. It helps me saves a lot of $$ on my utilities bills.

    Why not introduce low-flow shower heads? Especially since they're already aware that shower takes up the largest share of the pie? Those thimbles also have to go mainstream. PUB needs to make an effort to distribute them, rather than giving out on an on-request basis.

    solution, 1. wash all dishes only end of day. 2. bathing is only cleaning up yourself. if wan enjoyment go swimming pool. or follow Japanese, bath together.

  • @rhapout
    @rhapout Před 3 lety +1

    Does it really need smart technology? Why not use containers while using water? Like use a cup of water while brushing your teeth. Use a bucket of water instead of showers when taking a bath. Etc, for sure you'll reduce water consumption. I thought this was common sense among Asians :))

    Her tap at the end needs an aerator to improve washing functionality.
    Tariffs should somehow peg with the type of housing to encourage growth, otherwise it disadvantages lower income citizens to have more children due to increased burden. For example 2 to 3 room HDBs should get lower tariffs, the inconsistent GST/USAVE rebates are useless as it is unpredictable and neither alleviate the long term stress nor factor in the number of children in the household.

    Does anyone know if there is any efficient flushing toilet bowl out there? Perhaps like those used onboard aeroplanes (using air pressure)? Ever since I work from home the increase in bill is pretty apparent.

    • @Pinkyearlgrey
      @Pinkyearlgrey Před 3 lety

      As a temporary measure, you can add water bottles into your cistern to reduce the amount of water per flush.

    • @JJnejihyuga
      @JJnejihyuga Před 3 lety +1

      Collect your washing machine water (during the last rinse cycle) and use that to flush. We usually collect around 4 buckets (~60L) and we use it to flush the toilet. It basically cut the need for flushing water fairly well. And 3-4 buckets is definitely a lot cheaper and easier than buying a new bowl.

    I don’t see the point of making everyone glued to follow a national average usage of water. It should be a simple use less water as we want to help global warming issues and also reduce our cost of water. It’s really quite a bandwagon goal thing to insist everyone to reduce water usage without understanding each family needs. It’s assuming everyone isn’t using water wisely in general.
