Wowza. So many critics about the band. Well me and my 3 and 8 year old grandsons had the time of their life at their first HBCU classic. They were visiting from Chicago for the first time, we've been fishing, sightseeing and drove down from the FloridaPanhandle for the game. They didn't seem to mind if somebody in the band messed up or played outta tune, they had the time of their life and so did the peeps around me. A good time was had by all.
and thats all that mattered! most of these folks don’t even know how to play an instrument or ever been in a band but will find a million reasons of what they didn’t do
I enjoyed every moment as well!!!! My first Classic since they pull from Tampa. Both Football Teams looked great 👍🏾👍🏾 They played well; I loved it💕 Go Rattlers 🧡💚

Sound is clear. FAMU is unmatched. Angles of this video is severely bad. Why so long extended close ups of specific single band members and not the actual band.
I as a band alumni am not feeling this, as a former drum line member am so sad, that is not the rattler cadence, I’m not sure when it got modified, but y’all need to go back and get it right. When y’all went into dance formation what the heck cadence was that, it wasn’t the rattler candence, and the cymbal players have not played anything right yet.Please go back and look at the vids from the 70s. The man who wrote that cadence master Sargent Henry McNair from Dillard High school, was buried today may he Rest In Peace, would be very disappointed as I am.Y’all please go back and get it right. Calling all OG’s Notty boon, Vernon McWhite, Ft laud. James Brown, Bull, Vernon Ivory,Tweety Bird and Donald Duck frm Jacksonville, and anyone else I forgot we need to go back up and get this cadence right. I concur…..I’m a Marching “100” Alumn from 98’, and yes, there are some things within the band where the concept and tradition have faded……yes, that cadence going in to block band is a new one….do I like it? it has a groove to it and definitely I could rattler off of it, but I get what you are saying, keep it original….but things don’t stay the same forever…. A lot of things have vanished since Chipman has taking helm over the band, so maybe he likes the band in a certain way other than Foster or White…..but geesh, no entrance cadence anymore onto the field, no 20th century fanfare, no drum breakdown within the drill or before the drill (that always received house from the crowd)…but, there are time constraints that limits what the band can do within a 10 minute show……long gone are the days when we use to get out there an do a 15 min. show…..uh unt, it’s not happening anymore…;even the dance routines have been modified and are considerably shorter…..
So instead of appreciating the execution and sound of the band your big gripe is that they dont play the same cadence going to block band that you did 50 years ago. You sound out touch.
@@sinfalta it's much more than that AJ Gilliam. The band wasn't made famous from the new director. Either do what Dr. Foster did or do something different. Can't have it both ways.
@@chisbrabley6887 I don't get your point. Foster made the band what it is though innovation. Why would you want Chip to keep the band stagnant for the sake of your own ego? Why do you think kids today don't want to put their own stamp on the 100 legacy? Legacy isn't about doing the same thing year after year. It's about having a concept and evolving around that concept. White's bands weren't exactly like Fosters bands. It's weird for y'all to love the band enough to want them to look exactly how they did when you matched but not love them enough to see how different concepts have slowly evolved over the years.
Dont worry mello red wildcat. MansaBc cant talk about spelling. Oh at Cookman we were taught to spell correctly, but when a whole band (garden snakes) can’t spell jackpot correctly on national T.V u need not say another word about The Pride 🤔

They may need and appreciate your Mentorship and volunteerism -they brought willingness energy and the preparation they had
