A California-coastal town claims it is the artichoke center of the world

Castroville, just south of the Bay Area, produces three fourths of the state's artichoke supply.

Have been to Castroville and it was a wonderful experience tasting artichokes cooked in different ways - absolutely delicious Can't wait to go back. Thankfully we can now get fresh large artichokes at Costco's even in Canada.
