I was in Killarney and I got attacked one night. Some fella come up behind me and started choking me and then ran off. I beginning to suspect Gooch now, having seen this clip from Brolly.
Valid point Joe. Gooch is a class act but that Kerry team always faded when push came to shove and it was in the "melting pot" as cyril farrell would say..

I really think he meant it in terms of Man Utd being arguably the best team in the Premier League over the past number of years and Kerry being arguably the best Gaelic Football Team in recent years. Don't think he intended a direct comparison between Kerry and Man Utd
In 2009, Cork started out 1-3 to 0-1 against Kerry in the Final. Kerry continued to fight and won by four points. Cork put it up to Kerry and Kerry beat them back. Mayo 04,06 and Cork 07 were all games where Kerry ran away with it but Joe's argument has a hole when it comes to 2009

i dont think he was sayin gooch is a choker ....what hes saying is that tyrone dublin and armagh against kerry stuck with them for a whole game and kerry couldnt beat them....donegal did the same and won
Watching this in September 2014 and laughing. "Joe Brolly what do you think of THAT?"
If nothing else it makes for entertaining television. Mr Brolly is in the legal profession where they will often argue that black is white and vice versa. These two have a real love/hate relationship, which is often more entertaining than the games they are analysing.
Brolly had a point here to be fair. Has that team ever won a tight All Ireland Final against a big team? They got a few soft ones against Mayo and Cork.

What Kerry have won they've won in pure class and style, wouldn't call it soft. How many all Ireland titles have Kerry won in the last 10 years in comparison to other teams? 5! Only thing I'm sorry about is Kerry didn't meet the dubs this year in the all Ireland because they would have slaughtered them. Kerry beat Donegal. It was a poor game to watch as Kerry had to lower themselves to there level but by doing so we won the all Ireland. Donegal play poor football, they might as well be playing rugby.

Brolly is spot on here. Marc o se pretty much admitted this week that tyrone still annoys him . Brolly is the most articulate analyst in gaelic football, spillane and lyster were very poor here

Lets be objective....Kerry have 36 all irelands. Would they have won so many if they had to qualify out of ulster? What are the statistics regarding how many all ireland finals Kerry have lost? Kerry were beaten in 2002 by Armagh. Humiliated in the 03 semi by Tyrone. Again taught a lesson in 05 by Tyrone. That lesson was repeated in 08. Kerry and Spillane will always hurt regarding this. They beat Tyrone in 2012 in the qualifiers and i never saw celebrations like it. That spoke volumes in itself

I'll be sick if kerry win the all-Ireland this year. The dubs are bad enough but a bit of craic at least. Donegal beat kerry in 2012 championship and kerry supporters were too ASHAMED to show their crests/jerseys/colours afterwards and went home with tails between their legs. Kerry beat Donegal in 2014 and the kerry supporters were too PROUD to even be seen speaking to Donegal people. The guy who commented before me is representative of most Kerry supporters in that they are big-headed, smug and hateful. While I don't agree with much of Joe Brolly's statements he was spot on when he said that Pat Spillane can say what he likes about other teams but its a whole other story when the shoes on the other foot........

Are you seriously questioning what Joe Brolly knows about the game? 'he hasn't a clue wat he is talkin about' and 'only 1 all ireland' you say? He was a fantastic footballer in his day and knows a hell of a lot about Gaelic football. You might not agree with his statement or opinions but you can't seriously say he doesn't know what he's talking about. Your spelling alone is a disgrace to youtube and indeed, the human race...kind regards
