Am I the only one that doesn't get the Kong hype? Looks much cooler on the outside than the ride actually is, IMO.
Nah I feel you. I personally don't like the ride but the line que is totally worth the wait.
You are not alone. I remember the original Kongfrontation, which was much better. We usually skip it.
I really disliked it the first time but it was a tad better last visit as I wasn't breaking my neck trying to take it all in. The Theming is amazing.
Yep the ride was a major letdown!!
We love Kong, but I feel they're relying on screen rides too much. I'd love more traditional type rides.
I leave tonight for Orlando and I’m so excited I will be at the parks for 3 days and I have to say I prefer islands of adventure because hogsmead just has this home feeling as cheesy as it is

Before construction at jurrasic park i used to walked really slow to listen to the background music and ride the river adventure..the theme music and the ride make the second best ride at island of adventure

Great video as always, between the two parks I prefer Islands but I still like Studios. On a side note there's actually 4 attractions in Production Central: Minions, Shrek, Rip Ride Rockit and Transformers.

Rix- I hold almost 100% the same opinions as you with respect to the two parks. Thanks for your work and content!
Just in case you're getting stumped on new videos to do... you could do a video on allergy friendly food places to go. 3 in my family can't have dairy and I can't have gluten or dairy and it's really difficult to know who can accommodate.... and no one wants a breadless burger. You could break it down by park and city walk, separately. Another idea would be a break down of ticket deals. Current deals that the park is offering, military offerings, and comparing that to in state and out of state yearly passes. These are two subjects that you could make new videos on every year or twice a year as things update and change.

My favorite since I was a kid was IOA. Marvel Super Hero Island and Jurassic Park are timeless and I have so many memories as a kid in the Visitors Center. And on Marvel Super Hero Island working merchandise for 8 months (:
We spent six days there for the first time and I have to say that I am an Islands of Adventure guy because of Hogsmeade and especially Hagrid’s. Excluding Hagrid’s I’d have to go with Studios because I love Diagon Alley

I’m inclined to agree with these assessments. Haven’t tried Hulk or Dr Doom yet, but definitely liked the other rides over in IOA. And we did make use of those lovely bathrooms, thanks to your tip. I guess you are in the parks a lot, judging by all the photo bombers. Had Aly in fits of giggles. Thanks for brightening up a hectic day!
Pat Rinker Both Hulk and Doom are amazing. My last trip was the first time I fought through my fears and rode them. SO glad I did!
Ronnie Reagan my daughter was only 12 when we went, so no chance. I’ve told her we have to do it at least once next trip. She’ll be almost 16 by then, so I think it’ll be a go.

RipSaw Falls and Jurassic Park River Adventure are so much fun. I love drops and speed. These check both boxes plus have great theming. Definitely wear a poncho, especially for RipSaw. I typically save the water rides for end of the day.

The MIB ride building is designed based on the NY Worlds Fair, the saucers shapes from the movie and ride originated at the fair and were kept once it closed.

Agree with you on most; a few alternative perspectives on IOA though... When it is very hot, humid or raining, Poseidon's Fury is perfect, as most of the queue is inside with AC, and much less of a wait than the others. I also consider it more of a show than a ride. For eating, Mythos is fantastic but if you don't have reservations or the park is crowded, Confrisco(sp?) in the front has great food with less wait.
Kitti McFurface Poseidon’s Fury needs a refurb or it should be shuttered. It’s very dated. The outside is breathtaking but the actual show can’t hide it’s age. Also for those who don’t know, be prepared to stand a long time because there is no seating from the queue to the end of the show.

Loved this but it made me realize we missed a few rides on our last visit. Universal Studios was my favorite hands down.

Rick I saw you today in the chaos of Hollywood studios not Saturday 1/11 but couldn’t say hi. We had 3 successful rope dropped though. Hagrid avatar and rise of the resistance boarding pass. Thanks for all the help from your videos
MIB and Fear Factor are suppose to be the World expo portion of the park. It made more sense when there was back to the future. The MIB towers are themes to that world expo theme.
Seuss Landing is our family's favourite part of either park and our children are 18 and 16. Not just for the little kids. The Lorax meet and greet is the best. (might be able to guess that from the picture, lol)
The “slow and the curious” instead of the “fast and the furious” haha that is exactly what it is too! Biggest disappointment as far as rides go when we were there. Think of how cool they could have made this ride! They could have put people in cool street racing cars and had a roller coaster type of ride (maybe something similar to what the Mummy ride is like) instead of a party bus! That would have been so much more fun and better!
They are both great parks in their own right. It's those differences that make them special in their own right. Two of my favourite parks in Orlando.
Poseidon's Fury is amazing! When it closes, people will be sad that they slept on that one.

On a hot day, the Cat in the Hat ride is great. It has great a/c A while back I took a survey (NBC thing) and took it over and ate at Mythos.

Celestina is my favorite show in all of Universal. Can’t beat the witch who is always on pitch.
I prefer IOA to Studios. The theming and immersion is much stronger to me in it. Studios is good but it’s mostly just building facades for the old areas so don’t seem that diverse. Diagon Alley is amazing and I like Springfield a lot but that’s just two spots. Islands really immerses you into the environments more and despite being situated around a lake you don’t really see the other areas a great deal from each land. Plus as you mentioned the ride options at IOA are much much better.
As a person who didn't visit universal as much as disney growing up I intend to like both parks. My last visit to IOA was in 2008. I havent been since then.
My favorite by far is Universal Studios because of all the good rides and shows and just the vibe is so much better.

Thank you for the video. Your videos re getting me excited for my very first trip to Universal studios and Islands of Adventure in June. But I have a one track mind on Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade and Hogwarts with tissues in my hands because I am going to be one of those who will just crying at first shot.

Great video!!! I have to disagree about the best pizza in the theme parks. I think Comic Strip Cafe beats Louie's. Comic Strip Cafe has the best selection of food for an entire family hands down. Their specialty pizza is a must do for me.
And it's usually far less crowded then the other food places.
I went to island of adventure, it was mind blowing,my favorite rides was the hulk and spiderman.
And my favorite was Terminator 3D it hurt me hard when they took it down but i geuss i can get over it and try something new

Neither The Everest Yeti ride nor thexl dinosaurcwhirp mouse type ride existed then! So how about at review I've no Idea if I'm ever going back but I can live it through your reviews!

You forgot Confisco! It's the other full service restaurant in IOA. It's on the right coming into the park, right as you'd take the left to The Hulk. Awesome food and service!

Footnote: Mythos won Best Theme Park Restaurant from 2003-2008, but the banner has remained for the last 11 years. Finally, Mythos won the award again for 2019.
"The winner is....." LOL! Recently, I've chosen Universal over Disney for two reasons. At Universal, I can enjoy a cocktail and a cigarette together. And, Universal is more senior-friendly regarding ankle damage from strollers.

IoA is better with the amazing theming and immersive-ness, but Universal is better with nostalgia. Although Diagon Alley is cool, it doesn't nearly match up with that warm feeling you get when you walk into hogsmeade imo.
What about the Fountain of Fair Fortune show?
This was an unexpected highlight for my kids. They got to the point they were disappointed when the fountain was "sleeping."

Personally, Islands of Adventures is much better, as it features such great rides as:
Spider Man
Kong
and, both Hagrids Magical Creatures and The Forbidden Journey
Universal Studios is decent but it doesn’t feature as many good rides as it’s best are:
Men in Black
Gringotts Ride (This is an opinion, as I’ve heard many say they don’t like Gringotts)
Simpson’s Ride
My opinion may vary from yours (probably a lot for some of you) so please take this with a grain of salt, and don’t get mad if my opinion is different from your opinion, however I’m sure most could agree that Islands of Adventure Is better.

Easy I prefer island of adventure to universal studios but it depends on what you like
If you like movies or shows or if you like dark and calm rides go to Universal Studios
If you like rollercoasters water rides novels marvel or thrill rides or the better kids area go to Islands of adventure

There are no female-led rides at Universal and Island of Adventure. At least in Universal Tokyo, they have the Sailor Moon ride, similar to the Shrek ride. Disney has Ariel’s and Frozen rides.
