This is absolutely stunning! My choir has performed this a few times. This recording is one of the best I've ever heard. The interpretation and expression is ... flawless... It's a must-hear recording for any ensemble venturing to perform this song! I'm glad I saw this link. It was on one of my channel subscriber's favorites list, now it's on mine.
Doing well, and likewise! I cannot believe I found this performance just looking for the piece. I still remember my part! Wasn't this the audition piece as well?
My Regional Chorus is singing this song, and I'm getting the feeling that it will most likely be a State Chorus tryout piece as well.... -_- lovely.... :P
In an All-State Chorus, as the choir is consisted of completely high school students, so also the pianist is most likely a high school student... After all, it is an extremely challenging piece.
Dr. Weston Noble!!! I remember this wonderful year at All State. Who was the soloist? I remember she was Third Chair First Soprano but got the solo. I liked her alot.
great performance! but the pianist sucked! This piece is practically a piano concerto with a back up choir and for me, some of the piece was ruined especially at 5:45. But otherwise really really great!

I'm proud to say I sang in this choir, in 1989. I was 12th chair, Bass, Arkansas All State Choir. Amazing to hear this after all these years.
I loved singing in the alto section!

Good to see a fellow State Choir member out here, how are you?

8th chair second tenor! Glad to see you, pal!
This was a very good recording as well as performance, kudos!
Ohmigosh, I was in this choir. I can't believe I just found it on youtube. Thank you, poster!!!
My college chorale and Womens' Ensemble are singing this piece together. I'm in the ensemble. This is an execellent recording.
THIS WAS A SONG WE, THE TENNESSEE ALL-STATE HONOR CHOIRS SANG IN 1986. IT WAS PROBABLY THE MOST DIFFICULT PIECE WE PERFORMED.

i can attest that this piano part is no easy task. oddly virtuosic.

Me. Had no idea this was on CZcams. Lots of fun.
This song is actually part of the all state music this year in Texas, except it's TTBB. Not very fun if you're a baritone :(
