I live right near Dartmoor in Plymouth UK. The Hairy Hands is a famous story here. I've driven the Hairy Hands road 😍
When I was young, I used to sneak into my older brothers room through our connected closet bc our house was super haunted. I'd crawl up and tuck myself into his covers, but I'd always peer out towards the bedroom door. Our hallway had a nightlight that cast a light orange glow over the doorway. I remember always seeing a hand with long, spindly fingers. The hand was pitch black and inhuman looking and would curl its horrid fingers around the edge of the open door one by one. It would do this for some time until it finally stopped and just held onto the door, never moving again. I was super y young and remember just ducking under the covers and snuggling up close to my older brother. Eventually, I would fall asleep, and when I'd wake, the hand would be gone. My brother and I always fought during the day, but when night would fall, he'd always allow me to sleep with him because he knew I was scared. He never admitted it, but I think he saw it, too.
Did it freak you out hearing about it on here?
Since that time, have you ever asked your brother if he had witnessed it to?

I've never heard of this disembodied hairy hands thing and I'm pretty deep into anything strange and paranormal.

I always have dreams about battles and I'm always on a strange planet or not earth. Most of the time I'm fighting strange creatures and trying to save people but they're so vivid and feel so real been a recurring thing almost every night for years. It feels more real sometimes than life does its so strange!
I have that same thing. The dreams are never specifically about anything they’re usually innocuous,a more surreal version of everyday life,it’s just always so vivid and I remember dreams like I remember real memories. Going back at least 25 years I remember every single dream I’ve had and exactly when I had them. It’s kind of annoying,I wish I would just dream that I’m sleeping so I can get some rest once in awhile😂. Or I wish I didn’t remember so many,they’re not bad they’re just really detailed and I get wrapped up in them from the second I fall asleep til I wake up

I have a creepy, disembodied hand story.
When I was about 5 my mom had dropped me off at daycare early one morning. At that time of morning it was just me and a couple other kids and an older (maybe 9ish) boy who was the son of one of the employees. I just remember this one particular morning this older kid was telling a spooky story about a disembodied hand(s). I remember being paralyzed with fear as he was telling this story. It was just really scary to me. So much so that I grabbed a couple of crayons and shoved them up my nose to distract everyone. Something that was not like me but it worked.
That same night as I was laying in my bed I remember looking over at my window and seeing very clearly those SAME hands the boy had described slowly coming up from under my window. I just remember screaming until my parents came into my room. I was covered in sweat. I had always thought, until very recently, that it was just a very realistic nightmare. And as far as I can recall it's the only nightmare (or night terror) I've ever really had.
Now though, I'm beginning to suspect that my young mind had actually created a tulpa or thoughtform.

In case anyone is curious, the hands were green, wrinkly, veiny. Think Wicked Witch of the West. It was scary but shoving 2 crayons in my nose may have been an overreaction lol.

Okay, so here's my hand story. Betweens the ages of 4 and 6 I would get visited by a hand. It appeared at random times, but it seemed to show up when my father would run the water softener. The softener was fairly loud, so the sound of the machine would muffle any of my screams. My dad used to run it at night, even though I begged him not to. My bedroom was closest to the softener, so it was much louder. The visits were often enough that I asked my parents if I could sleep with my sister in her room. Gross. Well, the hand visited me in my sister's room. Despite my screams my sister never moved; she seemed in a trance like sleep. If I put my hands under my pillow, the hand would come out from under the bed and yank me by my wrists. It would disappear quickly when I would scream. As odd as it may seem, one night it appeared and it had a black glove on, one with an opening on top, where I saw dark, coarse hair emerging. That night it grabbed my wrist when I stretched my arm behind my head. I know this sounds odd, but the hand used to come from the air register. To my parents dismay, I used to cover the register with books, hoping that would help. It didn't. One night when it came, it was accompanied by a tall, Frankenstein-type character that blocked the entrance to the bedroom. I eventually got the strength to get out of bed and run into my parents' bedroom, so I think the monster thing and the hand were working "hand in hand" to torment me. It's difficult to remember how many times I was visited by the hand, but I recall about 10 times in two years, but I am sure it happened more. Finally, at some point the hand disappeared, I went back to my bedroom, and things went back to normal. The hand looked like Thing from the Addams. At that age, I never watched or knew about the Addams family, so this didn't influence my experiences. I recently mentioned all this to my psychiatrist. He said that the brain of a child is pretty much like mush and during its development the brain can make us see odd things. Well, oddly enough, to this day, I won't sleep with my hands anywhere near my head or under the pillow. Also, I still cover some of the registers in the houses I lived in. I know, all this stuff sounds crazy, but it happened. Hand to God, it happened.
Geeze Henry, that is intense! Thank you for peppering in those hand puns, though 🤣 It was a nice interruption from the spine tingles. Can we use your story in the future? We may do a disembodied hand episode. I'm starting to feel these experiences are way more common than I thought. Maybe a book! Let us know :)
@@BeliefHolePodcast Yeah. It would be great if you used it. Just a bit more info: This happened between 1979-1982 (roughly). I was living in Northwest Indiana in a town called South Haven, about 45 minutes from Chicago. It was/is a steel working area and my dad was a steel worker. Though he was (and still is) a loving man, he didn't appreciate being woken up in the middle of the night, especially when he had odd work shifts.Instead of waking him up, I eventually would run to my mom and whisper to her, "The hand just came back." She'd usually let me jump in bed with them until the morning. Also, the night before the Frankenstein creature appeared, I actually got the nerve to jump out of bed and tried to run to my parents' room, which was at a straight shot for me. I had to leap over my sister, since I slept next to the wall. Being clumsy, I tripped, and the hand grabbed my ankle and started pulling me under the bed. I shouted to my older sister, "Jenny, get dad. The hand has got me." She slept like a log. But as soon as I said "get dad", the hand let go right away. I ran to my parents' room again. The following night is when the Frankenstein-like thing showed up and blocked the door. He only showed up once, that I remember. And I just confirmed with my dad, he used to run the water softener every night!! I know all this sounds wacky and insane, but I know it happened.

1. Do you remember if the hand was actually 'disembodied' - meaning, you saw it wasn't attached to a physical body? Or was where the arm would have been always just out of sight? Do you know if the air register was something someone could have reached through, maybe from the wall or a lower floor or crawl space?
2. Can you give any more detail on the Frankenstein-type monster? Height, sound, smell.. or was it more just a looming presence?
It's okay of you can't remember these things. It's crazy how many of these stories we're getting. We're just hoping to add as much data points as is available. It does seem like there is something to this phenomena. Again, thanks for sharing! 👊

Great questions. All I remember seeing/felling is a hand that was cut slightly above the wrist bone. I know, not the most medically sound description. There was one time where the hand came snaking in from the bottom of the bed, so it crawled up between my sister's right leg and my left leg, It was the few times where I remember feeling an actual arm that ran down to the crook of the elbow. I remember it slowly raising the blanket as it got closer to my face. I actually put my hand down on top of it to push it down and keep it from revealing itself, I think I passed out at that point. So that would be the only disembodied moment I had with it. As for the air register , it could be accessed from under this damp, clay crawl space. The times I went through the air register a a teen, helping my father run wire or whatnot, it was impossible to stand up or even hunch over. I had to crawl on my elbows. As far as the Frankenstien -type figure, he was a s tall as the doorway, so 7 feet or higher. He would have had to slightly duck under the doorway if he wanted to enter the room, which I am glad he didn't fucking do it. When the Frankenstein-type character would walk back and forth through the hallway, I knew something heavy was going to happen. He never gave off a smell, same as the hand. His face was too dark to make out any features, besides he looked oddly deformed, but he had a mouth, eyes, etc. He was dressed in a heavy, dirty overcoat, and he never made eye contact. He didn't show up all the time, but when he did I had this sinking feeling that I was fucked. Last bit of material. If I was still awake before the water softener started, my little dog, Peanut" would walk up and down the hallway, standing on her hindlegs, sniffing the air. Even though my sister is currently an asshole, so I don't talk to her, but from what I remembered, she never saw "the Hand," even though I would like to show her my fist nowadays. : ). No matter how hard I tried to shake her, she would never budge. Later in my life, I got the feelings she was under some sleep trance, or something like that.. I mean, how could she not hear my screams?
And the very last thing, there was a school shooter kid from Oregon or Kentucky in the early 2000's who talked about covering the registers in his house because he felt someone/thing was going too pop out and get him. When I heard him say that, I froze and stared at the tv. Hope this helps. Like I 've said, I appreciate you guys taking this seriously. From my memories and the memories of my parents talking about how I used to jump into bed, this happened to me for a few years. My encounters with the hand, especially at such a young age, have made my life difficult, even now in my late 40s. Thanks you for your time. It means a lot. Those accidental summoning are no joke. Ppl think it doesn't happen but it does.
At first, I wasn't thrilled about the sound design for the narrations (I'm a big fan of the relative silence while people are retelling their paranormal experiences, ala Coast to Coast AM where it's just them and the slight static, which makes it creepier), but you guys manage to make it work so well. The choices you make for sound effects make these so much more compelling. And you guys choose some truly frightening and weird ones to read, which is a huge thing in a sea of "paranormal" shows that leave you like, "that's it?..." Belief Hole has quickly made it's way to my top shows to listen to throughout the day. Keep it up, guys, and thank you for all your work!
I have native American from Canada stories from my rez. Love your show. I have anxiety issues and your show is scary with the perfect amount of humor that I can binge without any I'll effets
With regard to not moving out of a haunted house, most hauntings are subtle and incidences occur weeks if not months apart and so if there is no escalation in the activity, you just get used to it. You hear voices, so you sleep with your fan on or your tv on so that any kinda ghost sounds get lost in the ambient noise in your room. If you are getting touched at night or you feel something getting on your bed, at first you jump up turn on the lights and look around, but you never see anything and your tired and you have work in 4 hours, so you convince yourself it was nothing and you go back to bed. Eventually you feel it and you just roll over and continue sleeping. If you get really scared you recite the Lords Prayer and sit awake for a while, but unless you are having likenpoltergeist activity of seeing terrifying apparitions you can usually just convince yourself that your dreaming or sleep paralysis or maybe your just having a bit of a stroke and you arent really smelling perfume or smoke.
Mio is in the northern Lower Peninsula, just FYI. It's very cool, you have a massive grid of dirt roads in the forests that you can use to get to all sorts of tucked away places pretty easily.

Just discovered BH this past month, but just wanted to validate I had a similar experience with a "talking statue," except mine was a talking painting of Jesus kneeling near a rock in an outdoor setting, under a cloudy sky lit by a bright moon. The painting is probably a familiar scene & has a name, but I'll have to get back on that. Well, I was a kid and scared at night so I went to my parent's bed to sleep. Parents were sound asleep, but I was wide awake looking at the painting at night. The cloud formation in the painting started morphing into a grotesque face and its lips started moving as if it was mumbling in silence. I stared with fright and laid motionless for about 30 minutes watching this thing morph into faces and move its lips. Everything on the painting was static, except for this grotesque looking cloud face. Then it just froze into place after time had passed. I may still have it stored in the garage or it was thrown away during a home remodel. If it got thrown out, I didn't mind getting rid of it because it still gave me the creeps decades later.

Great stories as always! This story about things going wrong after a summoning, this is not uncommon. Its a case of be careful what you wish or ask for. For example, you ask for more free time and end up losing your job. There you go, you asked for free time. Just be careful...... It isn't always the dark stuff either! Sometimes what you keep asking for becomes real but as I said, just be careful.

Many statues from old are people turned to stone just as many of the masterpiece paintings from The Renaissance we're made painting over projections of the image. Nothing is what it seems.
Up until i was maybe 10 i would ocassionally sleep on the floor in mybsisters room for weeks at a time, not because of paranormal activity just because i would get freaked out watching scary movies. My sisters are 7 and 8 years older than me so inwouldngo to them instead of bothering my parents. Plus they were usually the ones letting me watch A Nightmare on Elm Street etc.
On a recent business trip to Asia, I said to myself that I wanted to see a UFO and I got my wish😅😊 cause something was flying next to plane the night I was on the way back over the pacific. It was too dark to see the outline but the lights were way too close to the plane and made maneuvers that another plane, at least a commercial one can't. I haven't ruled out military but why would they be flying next to our plane at night 🤷🏾♀️I know I will never forget it, easily one of the most memorable expirences of my life but also I can't understand why wanting the lottery jackpot still won't work, just like for that UFO😢😂.
I found the lights within lights to be the most credible sounding story. Just for the way its recounted. Then maybe the 1 with the dog being attacked i'd give it a higher rating if there was backed by police report maybe photos it would take more investigating. 🤔

The orange lights with no tails that "exploded" could have been meteor, that was falling to earth perpendicularly relative to the couple, hence the tail would be obscured

I’ve heard that too! We’re certainly not biblical experts, but I believe the idea is Solomon had gained control over a myriad of demons to help him build the temple, which is a fascinating aspect of the story.

That one story is a bit of a stretch. Jumping off a highway overpass, which are over a story high, but all the damage is from a "hollow point" from some random jackass shooting people specifically in the leg with expensive ammo for no reason, hospitalized for only three months, and there's absolutely no peep about their miracle survival or an at large armed and dangerous criminal from any news source? Just a few too many layers of unlikely.
