In 2-stroke engines the cycle is completed in a single revolution of crankshaft whereas in 4-stroke engines the cycle is completed in two revolutions.
In 2-stroke engines, there is more wear and tear of moving engine parts which requires a large amount of lubrication. Further in 4-stroke there is a separate oil sump i.e. crankcase where the oil is stored and by the movement of piston the oil splashes and provides the lubrication whereas in 2-stroke the crankcase is meant for the compression so fuel and oil both are compressed and during exhaust, oil is also removed from the cylinder with the hot gases (burnt fuel).
Thus lubrication is required for the engine. So oil is added with petrol to provide the lubrication.
You must have seen 2T engine oil mixed with petrol in two stroke engine motorcycle (bike), scooter (scooty) ets. You will get the answer in this video.

I am still using Castrol 2 T (not available everywhere) in my new 4 stroke bikes . Refinement levels increases by 30 % , it's ability to lubricate inlet valve and ignition side of piston rings is imminent . Do not over dose every time. Put only 10 ml per 10 liters petrol while going of long rides . Do not put more than 5 % of refills .

Even I’m using HP Racer 2T engine oil, a pouch of 60ml every time in my Bajaj discover 100M, that too for almost 7 years now & bike has completed 76000 km so far.
No issues observed so far. Rather engine is quite smooth even after 7 years. I do long rides as well in my 100cc bike like Goa, Kolhapur, Shirdi etc, Stretch 500+ km in a single day many times that too as double seat along with my wife. Never face any issues such as engine jammed or overheating etc.
Also to note, I’m 110 kg person.

Suzuki samura, a 2 stroke vehiclei, has a separate tank for 2t engine oil, no need to mix excess 2t engine oil with petrol .

There was an earlier non synthetic grade of 2T oil which compiled with JASO FB standard. This got obsolete with the introduction of semi synthetic 2T oils meeting JASO FC standards like BP's MAK, HP's Racer 2T & IOC's Servo 2T Supreme. Castrol's Jet X 2T was also meeting JASO FC standards but probably discontinued now. 2T oils contain poly iso-butylene, a compund that gives them the self mixing ability in petrol, not found in non 2T oils. It is always advisable & preferable to add an extra 5 to 10 ml to the total fuel quantity after mixing the recommended dose of 2T oil as a safety measure to protect the engine from oil starvation.
Last week I went for a long ride near Orissa Border in Bajaj CT100 from my Home town Howrah West Bengal, the bike ran more than 50K and having a minor piston noise during my ride that noise started increasing and I poured a 8 Rupees 2T in the tank which have 3.8ltrs of fuel and as expected the noise gone and also the valves were supported with some xtra care. Also I have 2001 model RX135 and for last 17yrs the autolube pump supplies 40ml 2t in a liter of petrol and my RX is still running in Stock Faridabad fitted Engine.

If it's Bs6/FI model it's recommended to use specifications as per manual. If used different from manual, it will affect battery or sensors or ECU.
