Zack, when AJ was a little girl, her beloved Japanese grandfather often took her into Oslo, Norway, where he helped the homeless community, with food and, sometimes, a job. He and AJ were greatly respected throughout Oslo. Today she helps the homeless community in LA(discreetly).

Angelina's best friend has always been her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. Angelina wrote "Million Miles" in the days after Mery's husband passed away in 2019 when Angelina was 13. "Million Miles" was the first song released after Angelina signed with Republic Records in August 2020. "Million Miles' was the first song I wept to and it was at first listen, when the lyric video was released, in November 2020. I believe "Million Miles" will always be among Angelina's most popular songs, since it will help countless people properly grieve the loss of loved ones, as it did for me.
You can see the sadness in her face and those belts, feels like she’s releasing the pain. Tugs at the tear ducts every time.

When Angelina released the lyric video for this song (well worth watching as her grandmother, Mery, did the artwork), I listened to it on repeat for, literally, hours, and just sobbed. It reached something deep inside me. Old hurts that were so deeply buried I didn't even know they were there. When I finally stopped crying, I felt cleansed and much lighter. This young woman has a way of touching your soul with her music that is unmatched.

I'm not a musician, but when I heard this song for the first time I thought how the piano notes reminded me of twinkling stars, and we know that the stars and moon are prominent in many AJ songs. Angelina wrote this after her maternal grandfather died. She has said before that she often writes her songs using her thoughts from her daily journal she faithfully has kept over the years. This grandfather was Japanese which is probably why she can speak and sing in Japanese. There’s a video of her singing at a concert in Japan in Japanese. The song was so poignant that I was deeply moved even though I couldn’t understand a word of the song.

In the same time it's also a song full of hope and sweetness, with beautiful lyrics write at only 13 years. If there is a live and a studio version, try to react to the live version, it will always be much better as the crowd really brings out the emotion in Jordan, especially in a song like Million Miles. Her belting is also totally amazing in the live versions in the summer of 2022.
